Mayor Eric Garcetti said that Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers who felt demoralized by recent protests and budget cuts should take heart and “remember why they became police officers.”
Garcetti was speaking after numerous reports of “record low” morale in the LAPD, after the Black Lives Matter riots led the mayor to announce $150 million in cuts to the department, which became official on Monday. Garcetti is also feuding with the local police union, which took offense last month when the mayor referred to police (in general) as “killers.” LAPD officers also learned that they would to be paid overtime for much of their work during the protests, and on Tuesday the local school board slashed the budget of the school police force by 35%, leading the chief to resign.

Garcetti ought to first remember why he became Mayor.
If they truly reflect back on why they became police officers, then that should backfire on this worthless hack!

Hey Yoga Pants, try to remember your job as mayor. By all metrics, you have run L.A. into the dirt. Vagrancy, lawlessness, illegal immigration, corruption, taxes.
The reason(s) they became police officers have nothing to do with the view garcetti and his fellow travelers have of police officers, and how they choose to use them.
Someone with authority needs to remind the mayor just what the responsibilities of the job are. It doesn’t seem he is carrying them out and should be removed - post haste!!

Make promises you cannot or will not keep, project your failures upon opponents, and make sure your patrons are all on board as you jump to do their bidding.

Bet Jack Webb is rolling is grave by now. He knew a lot of police officers and doctors and nurses back in those days and that influenced the realism he brought to shows like Dragnet, Adam-12, and Emergency.
And the usual expression: The beatings will continue until moral improves.
Well it sure wasn’t to take it in the ass.
Not to be spit upon, yelled at and cursed , assaulted with unknown liquids and abandoned by their supervisors and political leaders.
I believe it was to serve and protect those who could not protect themselves and at he risk of their own lives, the most altruistic of reasons.
