On Wednesday, Pennsylvania Heath Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine made the wearing masks when you leave your home mandatory for all Pennsylvanians - an expansion of the Secretary's order that people must wear a mask when visiting businesses.

Dr. Cyril Wecht told KDKA Radio's Wendy Bell that Levine's order is "totally, totally absurd."

I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him many times when I was a funeral director. Despite his celebrity status and success regarding his writing, he was always in the office and would come out to say hello and ask about what we were seeing in the course of our job. Just a great guy who loves what he does.

My grandfather worked for the county. Dr. Wecht was a commissioner at the time. Our family was deeply moved by his heartfelt condolences when he died.

Four months until the election. The rants about masks are a waste of our time.

I’m up for reading the autopsy reports you’ve written so I can make an accurate comparison.

Wow - Dr. Wecht is still alive? He was coroner in the Burgh when I lived there, a long long time ago. Must be pretty old.

Once upon a time there were Democrat men, now they all are artistic proofs answering to the feminized gay media monopoly culture

I liked hearing a professional’s take on it, but you are correct in that it is a wasted argument at this point. The other side has, for the most part, controlled the narrative on this. I guess my hope is that once the super-unemployment benefit goes away at the end of July people will realize they need to get back to work and perhaps a huge backlash develops.

House Democrats are stalling again in favor of extending the extra $600 for the unemployed. I’m not happy about that.

President Trump doesn’t like that, of course, and he’s wisely offering a back-to-work bonus instead, to get people back to work! He’s also in favor of a higher lump sum stimulus check than $1200 for each of most people.

The good news from the White House: 4.8 million jobs added in June! “7.3 million jobs in the past two months!”

It’s time for *everybody* to get on the campaign bandwagon and increase the number of passengers! Contribute and speak to neighbors around home about the many good things that have happened over the past 3 years or so!

Yeah. I saw an interview with Kudlow yesterday and he said it was a huge mistake to approve that, and that it will be the biggest sticking point on this next package. The Dems absolutely want it extended (to keep job numbers low), and the admin doesn’t want any part of it. Kudlow said 3 out of 4 individuals getting Pandemic Unemployment Assistance are making more to stay at home than they did working. It’s going to be a tough task to abruptly end the PUA, especially when the demand for an extension is “justified” by the Dems/Media telling recipients there is a literal plague right outside their door. The Republicans are in a tough spot here with having to stiffen up and get the country back to work in the face of fierce rhetoric. Frankly I have little faith in Congress, specifically the Republican controlled Senate, in rising to the task.
