A Night at Mt. Rushmore
Townhall.com ^ | July 5, 2020 | Clarice Feldman

Friday’s celebration at Mount Rushmore reminded me of Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” where after a wild witches’ sabbath, church bells ring, the sun comes out and the witches vanish. For weeks now we’ve watched the Antifa-BLM-just plain thugs and looters’ witches’ sabbath -- rampaging through our streets, defacing and destroying treasured memorials, looting, shooting, beating innocents and murdering them. Not a single Democrat leader has condemned these things, choosing instead to pretend these are peaceful protests against police brutality. Every four years they gin up some incident to create the impression that this is a racist society that requires radical reformation and conservatives are to blame.

The media once again played along, hiding the faces of those arrested for the mayhem, downplaying the destruction of lives and property and foolishly finding racism everywhere, though this is the least racist society of any major nation on earth, a nation that sacrificed hundreds of thousands of men and impoverished many to free the slaves. The mobs march with anti-Israelis in support of Palestinians, never mentioning that slavery is a thousands-year-old scourge which still exists in parts of Africa and Arab lands and nowhere in Israel or the Western world. Slavery is, in fact, a natural end point of identity based tribal cultures, which the Democrats historically seem never to apprehend or condemn. Supporting these atavistic morons is not the approach of winners. It is the tactic of a party falling apart at the seams and grasping for any vote, despite what the ginned-up media polls report.

Mount Rushmore is an absolute must see if you have never been there, especially since Senator Mike Rounds the RINO supports tearing the Monument down.

Please note he is running for reelection.

I was able to see it last year for the first time.
It’s absolutely stunning, especially that first glance as you’re driving toward it.

How about not electing Sen. Rounds & keep Mt. Rushmore instead? His way of thinking seems more suited to some other country, so maybe he could seek citizenship elsewhere & his ideas would be more acceptable there. Maybe even run for office in that country.

The left wants to enslave me, a free man, and bend me to their will.

Love the article - particularly this:

“To those of us steaming as we watch Democrat governors and mayors, media, major corporations, and educational institutions fold in the face of the regressive psychology of these mobs, it is cheering to see a president standing firm.”

A very good article...the bells are ringing; this nonsense is coming to an end. After nearly a month of nauseating coverage of all things riot, the eveinging at Mt. Rushmore and the speeches of President Trump and Governor Noem were refreshing, positive and inspiring. When she started reciting the Teddy Roosevelt speech of the Man in the arena, I started getting misty-eyed. I stand with our man in the arena now, not the critic that doesn’t count. President Trump’s speech was extemely well-written with a positive reminder of all things right with this country...and zero tolerance for those that would tear it down.

Most networks covered little if any of the President’s address.

It is past time for the President to have a direct line; uneditable and unable to be truncated; from him DIRECTLY to the people.

This bull of networks deciding whether or not to carry him has to be STOPPED!

Let ME decide if I want to watch or hear - not some unnamed and unknown censor!

Respect for the leader of our nation was the norm for decades and prime network time was ALWAYS rescheduled for their address. They especially grovelled for the illegal Resident who droned and rambled on, illustrating Shakespeare's "sound and fury signifying nothing". I can't remember a damn thing he said except that he loved the sound of his own voice when he wasn't on a golf course or shacked up with his boy toy drugged up avoiding the first First Man and their adopted daughters.

That's water under the bridge now and my heart goes out to the Secret Service having to keep all that under their collective hat. Rough harsh job. President Trump made a speech all Americans needed to hear and the swine major networks would not play it. They DID go out of their way to lie about it on the Sunday morning news shows, saying his condemnation of BLM was a racist attack on innocent protesters. Do they not know evil comes back and bites?

Your wish has been granted :)

I’ve watched many events from pressers with Kayleigh to Trump rallies on the White House channel and have never been cutoff or interrupted.

Other than Fox they don't cover campaign rallies. No surprise in that.

So?

This was NOT a 'campaign' rally!

You’re welcome. I manage a sort of informal ping list for that. Happy to add you if you want.
