Mask-wearers do serve an important purpose — although they don’t realize it. The mask gives really frightened people — people who would otherwise likely stay isolated in their homes — the courage to leave their nest and be around others. Because the mask does very little to prevent transmission of the virus, the mask-wearers help build widespread immunity right along with those who have known for months that the masks are useless for their purported purpose (carrying a handkerchief would be a much better — and safer — thing to do.)
I'm waiting for one for the experts to admit that "cough into your elbow or your sleve" was a really dumb idea.
Cough into a tissue and throw it away!
