Sanctimonious presumptuous self-righteous shaming letter from college president to all staff in 4...3....2....
I’m in the IC design industry for 30 years.
Indians hire Indians, Chinese hire Chinese, and Americans are told to hire diversity candidates.
My group of 150 is 90% foreign. Daily, I hear complaints about how bad this country is, how they have such great ‘stuff’ in India and China that we don’t have here. I’ve told a few, ‘then move back’, and they shut up, at least in front of me.
Every designer and intern we’ve hired in the past 4 years has been an Indian, and the manager of our group is Indian. Do you see how that works? I have not seen any American candidates, and it’s not because they are not in school. They prefer to work with their own people, just like we Americans do.
Getting a tenured position at a University is similar. Schools often are full of Chinese, Korean, Indian, and even Eastern European Jews and they only tenure their own. It’s very political.
.....”Its outrageous because if it sticks itll force thousands of international students out of their program. Theyll lose their visas and be forced to leave the country”.....
I don’t even remotely have a problem with that. Why do you?
Interesting observation from being in the thick of it!
Because I do believe we benefit from the mutual flow of international students between nations. I guess we will simply disagree on this point.
Mostly Communist Chinese and Indian trash. They need to GTFO, and GTFO now. There is nothing mutual about it. They come here and steal our tech and our jobs and send it back to Communist China and India. Its all very one way. Only benefits American STEM students have is the ability to spend $100 to $250K on a STEM degree just to have the honor of working at Starbucks or Kroger.
As I said, I see things differently. Ive worked with hundreds of international students over the years and have taught overseas. So I see this as beneficial to improving knowledge and understanding.
But there's no reason for over a million foreign students being in this country for the sake of diversity..not when the majority are Chinese students who remain here after they've graduated.
They have said that tuition will not be reduced - still $50K per semester, as well as the other costs. I wonder if they will still charge the dorm costs? Even if I were a rich man (Ha), which I am not, I would be mad as hell for having to pay full price for a substandard education. Why not just donate $1 Million and have them fed-ex the diploma to my child? You are paying for the name only.
