Good evening everyone!

This will be our last stop in California, it’s been a fantastic tour! We’ve been here about 6 months so it’s time to go visit new places.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Great memories of that place. Spent a year there when it was the naval training base many, many moons ago.

Prayer Eggs

Bible in a Year:

Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

Habakkuk 2:3

Just outside my kitchen window, a robin built her nest under the eaves of our patio roof. I loved watching her tuck grasses into a safe spot and then hunker down to incubate the eggs. Each morning I checked her progress; but each morning, there was nothing. Robin eggs take two weeks to hatch.

Such impatience isn’t new for me. I’ve always strained against the work of waiting, especially in prayer. My husband and I waited nearly five years to adopt our first child. Decades ago, author Catherine Marshall wrote, “Prayers, like eggs, don’t hatch as soon as we lay them.”

The prophet Habakkuk wrestled with waiting in prayer. Frustrated at God’s silence with Babylon’s brutal mistreatment of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, Habakkuk commits to “stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts,” to “look to see what he will say to me” (Habakkuk 2:1). God replies that Habakkuk is to wait for the “appointed time” (v. 3) and directs Habakkuk to “write down the revelation” so the word can be spread as soon as it’s given (v. 2).

What God doesn’t mention is that the “appointed time” when Babylon falls is six decades away, creating a long gap between promise and fulfillment. Like eggs, prayers often don’t hatch immediately but rather incubate in God’s overarching purposes for our world and our lives.

By:  Elisa Morgan Reflect & Pray

How difficult do you find it to wait while God works? While you wait, how can you obey God in what He has already given you to do?

Dear God, help me to trust You to work while I’m waiting.

Spent two weeks at North Island Naval Air Station. Loved, loved, loved San Diego/California! But that was in 1970 when America and California were still America and California. Now I wouldn’t touch it with someone else’s 10 foot pole.

Howdy, lauren. *HUGZ*

6 months? It doesn’t seem that long, does it?
CA sure has a lot of military bases and it’s been fun touring them.

I had several “adopted” sailors from San Diego during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Hey radu!

Good times this weekend with my sister, and a magnificent display of fireworks all over the city, despite the governor's warning that fireworks 'are not allowed', LOL. I had visited my sister on several July 4th but this one was extra loud and spectacular!

She's moving to Texas soon to be nearer her grandkids so it will be an end to an era, sadly.

Good times, we dined-in at a couple of restaurants and had a great weekend together.

Hi Kathy!

I went back home today after a great time at my sister's place, good food and fellowship; sadly she will be moving to Texas soon to be nearer her grandkids and I'll miss her.

A grand and unprecedented display of fireworks there despite the governor's admonition prohibiting them, LOL.

Folks here are tired of his incompetence and illegal lockdown orders.

Even though he discouraged folks from traveling to be with friends and family, his order was completely ignored as I saw literally 1000's of vehicles heading east as I was heading west.

Fireworks in your city?
