There are no police in my rural area and although we are shooting every day, we are not shooting at each other. Need to re-think that hypothesis— the police aren’t the problem, it is the character of the citizens in the urban areas. How do you fix that— permit them to legally be shunned, be denied housing, employment unless they can demonstrate they will be productive members of society.

How about exile them, forcefully if necessary. Most of them are beyond social remedy. We kid ourselves by thinking otherwise. IMO it is christian to exile them then to kill them outright. Money spent on rehab revidisists is money down the rat hole. That said, everyone deserves one mistake as long as it is not a capital crime. Perhaps two. But after that, get rid of them.
