The IDF remains vigilant on the Gaza border six years following Operation Protective Edge. Reconnaissance operations take place at all hours of the day, including technologically advanced intelligence gathering and air force activity.
Arutz Sheva toured IDF positions along the Gaza border to see those preparations.Soldiers at the IDF observation tower can see Hamas positions only a few hundred meters away, just across the security fence.
Traveling along the border with Gaza reveals how advanced and significant the fence is. The barrier extends dozens of meters above and below ground to prevent the construction of cross-border attack tunnels. While the refugee in Gaza camps appear to be peaceful, Hamas and other terrorist organizations continue to arm and prepare for another round of fighting with Israel.
Different IDF units are sent to protect the Gaza border every few months. The border is dotted with many lookout towers and technologically advanced observation tools, but the most important resource remains the military's human capital.
All movement along the border, from passenger vehicles to donkey riders, is seen by the IDF.
The current commander of the forces on the Gaza border, Lieutenant Colonel Shemer Raviv, said that "the IDF has changed its modus operandi [since Operation Protective Edge] and its level of readiness is currently high."
Both Israel and Hamas have learned from the last major confrontation in 2014, and both sides aware that the next round of conflict could begin...

End the dangerous Fakestinian Occupation of Gaza, send them home to Egypt and Arabia - and this so-called border wall will be unnecessary.
Thanks Eleutheria5.
I still have the “Red Alert” app on my phone from my recent trip to Israel. Went off a couple of days ago. Only once. When I was there in October....there were rockets popping off constantly.
Prayers up.
Israel would be wise to do something now. If lobotomy Joe and a black radical side kick get in the White House it will be a bumpy ride for Israel
In the next conflict just like all the previous ones:
Hamas will launch rockets and leave the position;
Israel will bomb the empty fields;
before attacking, Hamas will abandon all its primary posts deep underground and hide among civilians;
Israel will drop leaflets warning they are going to bomb such and such position;
any Hamas will leave, but force the civilians to remain;
Israel will then be blamed for civilian deaths.
Meanwhile Hamas continues to launch rockets and the cycle continues
Empty Gaza of palescumians. They have no right to be there. Dump them into an Arab country...preferably from 30,000 feet.
When I was there during the intifada, the Palestinian Jihadi dropped a rocket in the parking lot of the factory in Ashkelon that produces the chlorine gas for water purification for the entire nation. Quite a scare, as the compressed liquid gas is stored in a large propane type tank on site.
There was a moment when evacuation of the city was discussed if the tank was damaged.
Zephaniah 2 discusses the destruction of Ashkelon and the evacuation of Ashdod, a small village between Ashkelon and the Gaza Strip. It also describes the destruction of the Palistinians all the way to the southern gate that Egypt refuses to open as they panic.
I think the Jihadi will hit that tank in the future, they shoot rockets at Ashkelon every week. My bet is it will happen when the wind is blowing south. The Gaza strip is only 5 miles wide...
The chlorine gas will kill every oxygen breathing form of life down wind.
The Jihadi will hill millions of themselves that day by shooting at the Jews.
My guess is that since that near miss, they’ve fortified the cannister’s environment and hardened it. Nobody willingly plays Russian Roulette.
I hope they have armored it. But as to roulette, Jihadi do play, with bomb vests. Like they say, we worship death, Jews worship life.
Le’Chaim.
“Hamas: Enough warming up We must attack every Jew on planet Earth and slaughter and kill them”
Sorry, Sunken, but that story has been DEBUNKED. It’s not Hamas who said that, it was taken from the proposed DNC Platform this year.
You’re right, I should have recognized it...
They play for the 72 virgins and the boys like pearls, and the streams made of wine and whiskey, and everyone in their village praising them and naming children after them, mommy and daddy beaming with pride. Their idea of the hereafter is grotesque, but that and an enhanced rep in the hometown, together motivate them.
You’re forgiven...this time.
Jews of planet Earth: It’s been more than a year, and we’re still waiting. Bring it on already.
