It is interesting to hear sports TV mugs spouting off on how the NBA is now controlled by the players and not the owners. Truth be told, the NBA is owned by the players’ agents. Not one NBA player in twenty is capable of reading a contract let alone preparing one. Just so long as the player has a little bling then alls right with the world and the agents know it. Thus the agents find a friendly “fiduciary” to handle the players dough. The usual outcome: At age fifty the player is on welfare.
