*** Without a hint of regret, the most powerful institutions of the nation – the Department of Justice, the leading civil rights groups, the White House – conspired to send George Zimmerman, an Hispanic Obama supporter and civil rights activist, to prison for the rest of his life. Without any meaningful exceptions, the mainstream media enabled this dark turn in American history. ***
It wasn’t what Zimmerman WAS it was rather how he could be cast in the Media that mattered. And as they say in “The Godfather”... “It’s not personal, it’s just business.”
It was Zimmerman’s misfortune to have a Germanic surname which allowed the media to falsely label him a “white Hispanic” when they should have called him a black Hispanic. He is one-eighth black—most people with that proportion of African ancestry are considered black unless they are classified as Hispanic. Not that it is right or healthy to be obsessed with which racial category someone can be put in.
