He said back in 2016 that people who are here illegally would have to make amends but that they could find a home here permanently if they did. He used different phrases, once saying “they may have to leave and come back” or something like that.
In any case, we’re not going to round up and deport 20 million people. I wouldn’t support that. It would be devastating to the country morally. So we need to find a solution. Building better barriers to entry has to be the first step and he is well on his way with that. Now, we can work on the next step.

Yes, he contradicted himself in 2016, but he also said the law is the law and they have to go hime. The uniparty/GOPe feint of pretending to be for deportation in what is actually a massive amnesty is a shameful betrayal of conservative voters, and if that is indeed what Trump is up to, he’s no better than the rest of them.
I think he offered the same thing in 2017 but the Dems refused I think he offered them DACA citizenship for wall funding

Why would you not deport 20 million if they are illegal?
Not supporting that shows an indifference to the rule of law. We already have too much of that now.

Dear virtue signaler, if you take away all the perks they self deport. This is a mistake.
The democrats use that line all the time, as if that's the only solution the republicans have.
Enforce all laws on the books relating to illegals and many will repatriate on their own.
At least one state did that a couple of years ago and most illegals left the state, many back to Mexico and others to sanctuary areas, ie states and cities with those policies.
If Trump is going to give citizenship to illegals, even if it is just daca ppl, that's a big mistake.

If the 20 million or so illegal males of fighting age left the USA and marched into Mexico, they could take over the corrupt government there and make Mexico a prosperous country.
