The Philadelphia Eagles have penalized DeSean Jackson for conduct detrimental to the team, after the wide receiver posted anti-Semitic quotes attributed to Adolf Hitler and Louis Farrakhan to Instagram.

The Eagles said in a statement:

This has been a difficult and emotional week for our community and organization. The Philadelphia Eagles do not tolerate hate towards any individual or group. We believe in respect and equality for all races, ethnicities, and faiths. We as an organization want to help be an instrument for positive change. This can only occur through strong, deliberate actions and a commitment to learn and grow.

How did they penalize him? A sternly worded letter? A $50 fine? Ooh that will bite him in his shorts!

Nothing serious will happen at all. His BLM teammates will see to that.

The statement does not stipulate how Jackson was punished.

Maybe Eagle’s management lied about the whole thing, and didn’t do anything.

Thank goodness he’s a black guy. If Tom Brady quoted Hitler, he’d be playing sandlot ball in September.

They penalized Jackson the same way they penalized Riley Cooper who was caught on video saying the N word. In that case Cooper was fined an undisclosed amount but allowed to stay on the team.

Bottom line is the Eagles treated the black and the white player the same way when they said offensive things.

No they didn't. The Eagles sent Cooper to sensitivity training, drop us a line when you learn exactly how Jackson will be punished.

This is 2020. If you think Riley Cooper wouldn’t be driven out of the league today I don’t know what to tell you.

DeSean Jackson didn’t just flippantly use a racial slur, he was advocating Nazi-like anti semitism.

Apples and oranges and an entirely different climate.

However, as time went by without hearing from the team and as word circulated about Jackson’s efforts to “educate himself” on anti-Semitism, it became widely believed that the Eagles punishment would be a light one.

Clearly, those beliefs were correct.

I’m told DeSean Jackson is scheduled to meet with a 94 year-old Holocaust survivor today & met with an anti-Semitic organization yesterday

The Eagles WR is working hard behind the scenes with Jewish community leaders to correct his mistake & educate himself

That is a lie.

They hate white people.

If Tom Brady just said all lives matter, he would be booted out of the NFL and all his statistics would be scrubbed, like with a cloth.

The penalty was he had to Liston this drivel. He promised never to do it again. Wink, wink, nod, nod.

Meanwhile, people are losing their jobs and their livelihood for not being “racially sensitive enough”.

“....he’d be playing sandlot ball in September.”

He is...he’s playing at Tampa. It is sandlot with a better lifestyle at St. Pete and better access to Disney World. And if they ever have a winning season again, he’ll be going there.

Again, he was fined an undisclosed amount by the Eagles and he is supposed to meet with local Jewish groups to discuss the Holocaust and why those words are especially hateful to Jews. That's the same thing as sensitivity training. But I get your point, we don't know if the fine is significant like Cooper's reportedly was or if he was just fine $500. I do not recall if Cooper was suspended but Jackson will not be suspended at this point.

Jeffery Laurie (the Eagles owner) has a history of giving people a second chance to atone for past bad behavior. Even though he's Jewish, that's a very Christian thing to do. But I will agree with those who say if DeSean Jackson says something as stupid and insensitive as this one more time again, he should be immediately cut.
