Of the news organizations that have gone all-in promoting coronavirus pandemic panic, few have been more active and eager than NBC News.
Consider, for example, NBC contributor Dr. Joseph Fair.
Fair revealed this week that a recent antibody test shows he has not contracted the coronavirus. That is a hell of a thing to hear from the same network contributor who was passed around from one NBC program to another two months ago to describe in excruciating detail his battle with the virus and his subsequent journey to recovery.
In fact, in May, Fair appeared on the network “nearly a dozen times to detail his struggle with COVID-19,” according to a tally kept by the Washington Free Beacon’s David Rutz.
The details of Fair's appearances, many of which have been cataloged by Rutz, reveal just how little effort people at NBC put into verifying the doctor's claims about having the virus.
On May 14, for example, Fair joined Today from his hospital bed in New Orleans to theorize for the show’s massive audience that he had caught COVID-19 through his eyeballs. Fair made sure to mention that he took a packed flight and that he wore a mask and gloves. Hilariously enough, Today co-host Hoda Kotb noted specifically that Fair had tested at least four times for the virus and that each test had come back negative. But did this stop anyone from presenting the medical expert as a genuine coronavirus victim? Nope!
“Clearly, you have it,” said Kotb after noting the four negative tests.
Today co-host Craig Melvin called the "false negative" tests "scary." Co-host Savannah Guthrie said they were a "cautionary tale," whatever the hell that means.
Fair, for his part, played the part of the trooper.
"I was a very healthy person. I exercise five to six days a week," he said from his hospital bed. "If it can take even me down, it can take anybody down."
Later that same day, Fair appeared on NBC Nightly News, where he told viewers that, in addition to wearing masks and gloves, they should also wear protective eye gear. Because he got the virus through his eyeballs, remember?
Fair appeared on Deadline: White House on May 18, where he spoke alongside a chyron that read, "Breaking News: NBC News Contributor Updates On His Battle With Covid-19." Later, on June 14, Fair made an appearance on Meet the Press, where he discussed his recovery from his supposed struggle with the coronavirus.
"I did not expect if I got COVID-19 that I would get that ill," he said.
On Tuesday, however, Fair announced some exceptionally interesting personal news.
“My undiagnosed/suspected COVID illness from nearly 2 months ago remains an undiagnosed mystery as a recent antibody test was negative,” he revealed on social media in posts first flagged by journalist Steve Krakauer. “I had myriad COVID symptoms, was hospitalized in a COVID ward & treated for COVID-related co-morbidities, despite testing negative by nasal swab.”
Fair added, “I was severely ill for 2 weeks, 4 days of it in critical condition, resulting in pneumonia, diffuse lung injury & 18lbs of weight loss. My path forward is a 2nd AB test, & follow-up with a pulmonologist & tropical medicine specialist in an effort to diagnose what made me so ill.”
Maybe testing negative four times should have been his first clue?
This is so humiliating for everyone involved. But if you think NBC News is scrambling to address and correct this rather embarrassing fiasco, guess again. The newsgroup still has a story on its website from May 14 titled "Virologist hospitalized with coronavirus believes he got it through his eyes."
But he did have side-saddle gas tanks.
And they get offended when they get called fake news? Really? And how many times have they gotten away it? I assume everything they say is a lie. Statistically likely!

The man, as well as, the cablevision station should be prosecuted for deliberately misleading and scaring the public with this stunt. How much different is this from yelling ‘FIRE’ in a movie theatre?
