When are the police going to side with the citizens and allow self defense or better yet, deputize law abiding folks and allow the problem to be dealt with?
We've already seen many examples of police enmass standing around in riot gear watching innocent citizens get the crap beat out of them. So I'd say the answer to that is never.

You would have more problems justifying a shooting as a deputy than you would as an ordinary citizen.
