I don’t believe there are any aircraft on board when they are doing a refit. No ordnance either.

have a bit of knowledge on this, my wife having been stationed on the USS Wasp(LHD-1). the air wings fly onto the ship after leaving port, and fly off before pulling into port.
I’ll tell you one thing, it’s an awesome sight seeing those flight decks, and the well decks empty amd you’re able to see how massive they are!
