Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions lost the Republican nomination for his old Senate seat in Alabama to former college football coach Tommy Tuberville, likely ending a long political career with a bitter defeat egged on by President Donald Trump.
Tuberville, 65, beat Sessions in Tuesdays Republican runoff as Sessions fell short in his attempted comeback for a seat he held for two decades before resigning to become Trumps attorney general in 2017.
Familiar to Alabamians from his decade as Auburn Universitys head football coach, Tuberville is now positioned for a strong challenge against Democratic U.S. Sen. Doug Jones. With Alabamas strong GOP tilt, the seat is widely viewed as Republicans best chance for a pickup as they try to maintain their thin Senate majority amid Trumps lagging popularity nationally.

We fought a good fight and the people of Alabama have spoken. So many people have helped me in this campaign and over the years, they love this state and I love them.— Jeff Sessions (@jeffsessions) July 15, 2020
#8. You summed up Sessions failure in one sentence. As several characters in the movie “A Knight’s Tale” said, “ You tried and you’ve been found wanting”.
Thank goodness
Sessions threw his career in politics away when he betrayed Trump.
Tuberville needs to win.
He creamed little Jeffie today.
Off track again.
Sessions is the one that is a disloyal, blame-shifting ignoramus .
*sigh* Ann, I knew you when...
I’m glad that Trump has only the GOOD qualities of a narcissist
When Trump hires someone to do a job, he expects them to do it.
Great choice, Alabama. Doug Jones must lose in November.

CONGRATULATIONS Tommy Tuberville! HOORAY Chief. Thank you, sir. ESAD Jeff $essions.
Maybe Tuberville will turn against us, then we will defeat him.
Sessions lost our trust. We are sick of lifetime politicians.
If we have to turn Tuberville out in 6 years, we will do it.
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Congratulations for providing evidence for Godwin's Law
Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies) is an Internet adage asserting that "as an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"
Hope Tommy will beat Doug. I’ve heard Jeff had an ad saying Tommy lives in Florida.

Do any Freepers in Alabama have any idea what his chances are in November?
WAR EAGLE!!! Would ‘Bama fans not vote for Tuberville because he coached Auburn????
Tuscaloosa went for the ex-Auburn coach??? Freakin’ amazing. LOL!!!
Now that the polls are closed, I’ll admit, this was always going to be a tough race for Sessions, thanks to the disloyal, narcissistic, blame-shifting ignoramus in the White House. pic.twitter.com/C1IWLk06n3 Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 15, 2020

Dear Ann,
Shove it up your ass, you worthless narcissistic has-been.
House painters don’t have quite as long and poor a history in the House and Senate as lawyers do.
People say Tuberville has issues. Maybe, but we do know what a coward and liberal sympathizer Sessions actually is by his own inaction to support Trump and America.
