Just like in Seattle, the Feds have NO business here.

This is a city issue. State at the outside.

Napoleon got a lot of things wrong, but this quote is genius and forever:

“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

The Feds have a responsibility to protect and defend Federal property

The fed courthouse ceased being a city issue when the federal building was attacked, when fireworks were launched inside the doorways at federal officers, when there were repeated attempts to burn the building, knock out cameras, get on the roof, and when a federal officer was attacked with a hand sledge hammer.

If the city wants a tent city across from their city hall and county courthouse, go for it. But any action taken against the federal building is a felony. It’s up to the little larpers of Portland to figure out the difference between coddling and diaper changing by the city and county and the hard reality of dealing with the feds.

fyi - what the individual was doing just prior to being hit with a non-lethal round:

the ‘defiant’ portland mayor needs to be half as ‘defiant’ towards the protestors, including middle-agers who are outsiders crossing state lines to incite riot (another felony), as he thinks he’s being with DHS

and he can get his staff out there, and organize his little binky-needing larpers to clean the Fed building grafitti - it looks like crap

At this point of continuing rioting I disagree about Federal law enforcement coming to save people and property but with an election five months away, politically it is wise to let the Libs have a long taste of their utopia! I wonder if the Mayor realizes he just lost any chance of Federal aid by tellingthe Feds to F off. I’m sure all the local and state taxpayers will love footed the bill. Hope this finally wakes up those in Oregon.

Except that there are federal properties in Portland, such as the ICE facility, which is a favorite antifa target.

They are defending a FEDERAL court house.

Which is being assaulted because someone put up an NBA poster which had the “3 point” symbol, which they thought was some white power symbol.
