Agreed. People here still don't understand the polls were correct in 2016 - the national polls - that Hillary would win by 2 or 3 points and she did. And yes, I am more than aware it is 50 elections. However, winning the popular vote adds legitimacy to a presidency.

At the moment, Trump is not feared in either the House or Senate. Even the Senate republicans work against him behind the scenes. If Trump won the popular vote, it would add to his clout.

Trump had said before covid, that he would campaign in California, not to win the state, but to cut the margin of loss to help him win the popular vote.

Well, campaigning in Cali is out now, since this campaign will be mostly from the White House as evidenced by yesterday's event. It appears his rallies will be a rare event, so this will be much tougher. Even the convention in Jacksonville is fluid. They are now thinking making it an outdoor event, but I don't think anyone knows exactly what it will be like. Regardless, forget Cali, Trump will have to focus on FL, PA, MI and WI. Iowa, NH, AZ, too.

100% agree with you.

2 things in our favor:

1) As Scott Adams said, the GOP views this election as an "Extinction Event", which could wipe out the GOP. We will be voting for the survival of the Republic.

2)Courtesy Schweikart - Closed college campuses means the Dems will have fewer votes from registration drives.
