ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia's Gov. Brian Kemp is explicitly banning Georgia's cities and counties from ordering people to wear masks in public places. He voided orders on Wednesday that at least 15 local governments across the state had adopted even though Kemp had earlier said cities and counties had no power to order masks.

An increasing number of other states order residents to wear masks in public, including Alabama, which announced such a ban Wednesday.

The Republican governor has instead been trying to encourage voluntary mask wearing, including telling fans that reduced infections from mask-wearing would make college football season possible.

Mask Karens can wear two masks to provide similar protection to another person wearing a mask if the other person doesn’t.

plenty of docs and studies that n95 masks - much less cloth ones - do not work to stop covid viruses this small being exhaled and put into the air, or getting through the mask and being inhaled

its madness

we are enabling the insanity by validating it

for those that believe it helps let themwear it

dont force the insanity on everyone

this is how libtards prove you cant live your beliefs based on anything - faith, your own research, docs who disagree with them - if you dont agree with them

those of you who believe in doing this are endorsing libtard totalitarian tyranny

and this georgia governor shows what must be done against the blind ttranny of the librard fearmongerers

Agreed.
They believe masks protect everyone.
But that pistol on your hip shouldn’t be allowed.
It’s a cult, I’m telling ya.

...........................................................

Now you’ve done it. The mask Karens on F.R. are gonna be mad at you now. Watch out, they may try to smack you with their purses.

And that’s just what the male Karens might do.

They don’t believe that at all. They just want to tell you what to do.

I just got some masks made out of light cotton gauze. Ha ha ha. We are forced to wear them indoors in shops etc, so fine, here’s your mask. When it’s 95 degrees out at least I can breathe.

even then these particles are able to get through

and after all its not guaranteed to stop stuff smaller than .3 microns, which this virus is smaller than

and then comsider potential oxygen reduction

and consider people with breathing problems are advised not to wear masks

yeah they do say cotton masks are easier to breathe through

They’re not reducing anything with masks. Just increasing stupidity and absurdity.

I don’t care. I’m not afraid of covid. I don’t want to get it but I am preparing my body with as much health as I can (diet, fresh air, exercise, supplements, happiness). I do not wear the mask to keep me safe; I wear it because we are forced to. And sometimes I want to, like when I drop my kids at camp I want to be vigilant about the mask so the politician a-holes don’t have a reason to shut down the camp! It’s all for show because they need that control.

15 Jul: Fox News: Ingraham tells Americans they must ‘demand to see all of the science’ behind lockdowns, distancing and masks
‘Ingraham Angle’ host says future restrictions must be passed by legislature, endorsed by judiciary
by Charles Creitz
Ingraham noted that some recommendations and guidance from both elected officials and medical professionals has been directly contradicted within a matter of months. governors and medical professionals are ordering people to do have been subject to conflicting directives in the past.
“Back in January, [the CDC] recommended against masks and Dr. [Anthony] Fauci repeated that guidance in March ...” Ingraham said by way of example. “Now, he explained his mask flip and he’s in favor of them, saying those comments initially [were] motivated [by] concern for saving masks for health care workers.

“Facebook, by the way, now flags the old interview with Fauci as ‘false information’, she added archly...

14 Jul: Spiked Online UK: Muzzling the public
Why I’m against mandatory mask-wearing.
by Brendan O’Neill
Here come the sneerers. Their target this time? Anyone who expresses even a tiny amount of scepticism about mandatory mask-wearing in shops. Within hours, mask sceptics have become the new climate-change deniers. They’re granny-killers. They’re sociopaths. They’re the kind of people who care more for their right to breath all over the fruit and veg at Lidl than they do for the continued existence of people over the age of 75. The speed with which mask scepticism has been turned into a foul blasphemy that only thick people who probably voted for Brexit would ever engage in rather confirms that this latest manifestation of the culture wars has very little to do with masks. It’s all about people. Those people. It always is.

Boris Johnson has announced that it will be mandatory to wear masks in shops in England from 24 July. If you don’t wear one you could be fined £100 by the cops...We should talk about this, right? We should weigh it up...Apparently not. Apparently you would have to be a Covidiot, a mad libertarian, to want to discuss this latest development. The right thing to do is vigorously nod your head in agreement with the Tory government, don your mask, and muzzle your opinions...

But there’s a lot to talk about here. There are big questions. Do masks guard against Covid? The evidence is unclear. Why will it become compulsory to wear them now, when Covid levels in England are shrinking rapidly? Why could I go to Morrison’s without a face mask when hundreds of people were dying from Covid in England every day but I can’t do so now, when there are so few Covid cases that we don’t have enough people to test the vaccine on? Apparently even raising those questions makes me a Trumpian lunatic...

We cannot let mask-wearing become the ‘new normal’. Masks are horrible. They’re stuffy and claustrophobic. They make it hard to read people’s faces. They alienate us from each other even more, hiding smiles and discouraging chit-chat. And they actually worsen the culture of fear by spreading the idea that our fellow citizens are walking diseases who must be muzzled and kept at a safe distance...
We want connection, community, engagement. And so we believe that mask-wearing should be voluntary. Are we allowed to say that?
