Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) called on the Senate on Thursday to support an amendment to the next coronavirus relief bill that would bar states that do not implement mask mandates from receiving stimulus funding.
In a statement from the senator's office, Feinstein announced her intention to introduce the amendment and stated that it was time for Congress to step in and force states to implement such mandates to stop the virus from spreading.
Wearing masks in public should be mandatory. Period. [Senate Majority] Leader [Mitch] McConnell [R-Ky.] said the Senate will take up the next coronavirus economic relief bill later this month. At that time, I intend to offer an amendment to prohibit sending funds to states that havent adopted a statewide mask requirement," said Feinstein, a member of the Senate Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration.

I wonder what the Hawaiian district judges think about this. Can they make sure the federal governments funds sanctuary cities while at the same time allowing the federal government to withhold funds from maskless municipalities?
What if a city declares itself a Mask Sanctuary City?
Hmmm.
If the president suggested this, he’d be accused of wanting people to die.
Oh, sorry, I’d read it as federal virus help.
I want to know why nobody has raised any questions over Frankenswine selling off her stocks after being briefed about the virus?
Diane, move to NY and Como can put you in a nice retirement home.
I read it that way because of the title. This is confusing. I can’t check who wrote and published it while I’m posting, but it seems deliberately meant to confuse people.
LOL! Yes, he’s got a very lovely home for you, Diane. ;)
I think there were at least three other members of Congress who did the same thing.
Then, I thought I read that some turned around and invested in 3M and other companies making masks, PPEs, etc.
They made a killing, so to speak.
Bagster proposes withholding COVID-19 relief from states with mask mandates.
I’m pretty sure she has no say in the matter. The executive branch takes care of that.
I’ve gotten two noticeable respiratory infections since wearing masks.
Masks are only moderately effective.
Masks also hinder virus updates from other types of viruses. Hence I notice when I get virus updates. These virus updates probably cause testing facilities to become overwhelmed.
how about withholding relief to all states with sancuary cities?
Unless vaccines are made available soon, all we are doing is slowly suffocating our economy.
Twenty percent of NYC was already infected two months ago I believe.
By the end of the year, half our population may get infected.
Make the vaccines available to our doctors and ourselves now. If a vaccine fails Phase 3, the customers can get another type of vaccine.
Trump failed to veto the flawed $600/week McConnell relief bill.
The white elite in DC and elsewhere like barato labor.
Much better for the country if we could withhold that ignorant sl*t’s oxygen.
She should just hide in a basement like Joe Biden.
You win the thread...
Unfortunately the executive branch of government cannot withhold funds to enforce policy unless the enabling legislation gives the President that specific power. So say the black robed tyrants.
Bingo. How about withholding ALL taxpayer funds to states with sanctuary cities and who refuse to turn illegal aliens from anywhere in the state over to Immigration?
