Hypothetically, assuming he loses in November, would Trump have enough time to replace her in 2020? Would the Senate allow him? Given the soft RINOs in that chamber, I think not. Her death prior to the election would be used as campaign fodder on both sides. I could see it greatly driving enthusiasm up on the left.
Hopefully, he wins, but in the event, Trump loses, I don’t see there being a great deal of republican support to push for specific judges. I think for most, the fight will have gone out of them, and they will be ready to submit to
Nancy & all her little Nasties in congress.
Most GOP are not accustomed to open confrontation on party line. Being invisible is far easier.
Even now, the president doesn’t get as much strong party support as he has a right to expect.
So many GOP remain stuck in the Paul Ryan/John Boehner mode of thinking, go along to get along. Let’s show those Dems how flexible we can be, then they will be flexible for us, right?”
The Ladies (Romney, Collins, Murkowski) would never support a lame duck nominee.
Just this development will remind the left that they need the Senate and Presidency and then they will be free to use the Supreme Court to impose their will. I’m worried the left will be hyper-enthusiastic coming into November. They were complacent in 2016.
We had the vacant seat in 2016 and we still won and we will win again . She can leave next year if she likes . President Trump aint going nowhere. She should have left when Obama was President .
