Sen. Rand Paul Opposes Second Stimulus
WKDZ Radio ^ | July 17 | Alan Watts

Posted on 07/17/2020 8:06:31 PM PDT by RandFan

United States Senator Rand Paul says he is not in favor of another stimulus package to provide checks to Americans.

Senator Paul said he is opposed because he does not think our country needs to continue borrowing more money.

Paul said a better solution is getting people back to work in Kentucky.

The Senator says although COVID-19 case numbers are increasing, the trend appears to be toward less vulnerable populations.

Paul adds it is important to reopen the economy, but also protect at-risk groups.

Paul also discussed the politics surrounding the COVID-19 virus and provided other updates to the News Edge.

Rand is a true leader unlike his colleague Mitch McConnell.

The Senator says although COVID-19 case numbers are increasing, the trend appears to be toward less vulnerable populations.

If Rand thinks people are going to go back to normal when Covid is increasing in the community he's delusional.

But of course he's too smart to think that.

He's just trying to play his contrarian shtick for the credulous boobs.

Since November, the money supply (M2) is up 20% while GDP is down 5%. Classical inflation is defined by more money chasing fewer goods. So...

As conservatives, do we believe that economic growth descends from government pump priming, or...do we believe that a better response is for government to get out of the way...cut taxes, cut regulations, set the economy free?

I understand Paul's objections. I don't see politicians making the right decisions.

If Rand thinks people are going to go back to normal when Covid is increasing in the community he's delusional.

More positives in itself is entirety meaninglessness. Overwhelmingly most positives are asymptomatic. Over 45 million tests mean there will be more positives.
Not to mention most of the new positives are of under 45’s who have close to zero fatality rates.
Open up the country already.
Rand Paul is exactly right. And he is a doctor who has recovered from coronavirus and treated patients for coronavirus. He knows vastly more about the disease than Fauci who has never treated anybody for coronavirus.

The only way he is going to run is if he thinks the GOP will nominate him and he is one of the front runners.

I cannot see him wanting to run as an underdog again and go through all that ..

If GOP voters make him their choice in response to pollsters then he will run. The problem is I dont think they will.

So do I!

Unless it comes with MAJOR welfare reform....and NO more payments for those who can, but won’t work, no dice.

He run in 2016 as an underdog didn't he?
And the country has changed so much in the last 6 months, he could be one of the favorites if he runs.
Mind you predicting anything in politics 4 years away is like throwing a dice. So many things can and will happen.

I think it took a toll on him in 2016. He was also running for Senate in the same year which won’t happen next time

If people want Rand then he’ll run. The time might be right for him.

I think he needs to worry about 2022 first.

Don’t forget the Dem Party is still a force in Kentucky and they can raise money and fight campaigns (the governor is a Dem) though he should be safe!

It will probably pass 98-2 in the Senate

(Rand and Mike Lee will vote against it)

They need to stop passing these stupid bills.

Lockdowns and shutdowns lasted way too long. Estimated 53% of small businesses not re-opening.

End of all stimulus, eviction, foreclosure and repossession bans at end of the month.

Except for back-breaking part-time minimum wage manual labor warehouse, stocking, fast-food jobs and sub-minimum wage gig economy work, no one is hiring still. Debt collection, property removal and outdoor recreation (tents) will be a real growth industry.
