At least 18 Chicago police officers were injured Friday after a crowd of at least 1,000 left-wing rioters sought to topple a statue of Christopher Columbus.
The Chicago Tribune reports “At least 1,000 people swarmed the Christopher Columbus statue in Grant Park on Friday evening in an attempt to topple it after a march turned tense and chaotic when some people began throwing fireworks and cans at the police[.]”
Videos of the assault, which look like something out of a zombie movie, are everywhere on social media. You can see that the officers, who are not wearing protective riot gear, are outnumbered and pilloried with objects, including some very dangerous fireworks:

So, when do cops get to shoot? Ever? Or are they expected to take any and all assaults without defending themselves?
Why would anyone want to be a cop these days? What a thankless job.
Yet the police don’t quit. Apparently, their pensions are more important than their health.
The cops don’t need to shoot. The people need to stand up for the cops. They need to get out there and push the mob back themselves.
Is our country worth fighting for or have we outsourced the defense of liberty to the poloce only?
or maybe they believe the freedom loving people will emerge from their homes and stand up for their country alongside them?

The latter. A lot of talk from the right, but when it gets down to it, they aren't putting their lives on the line for liberty. I can't say I blame those hesitant to want and try. No one would really have their backs.

At which point they’d be arrested by the cops they are defending and charged with assault, battery, and riot.
Second City Cop has posted about this on his blog. The comments are great. He has a link to the Chicago Tribune’s story on this, and it is unbelievable biased. The picture accompanying the story shows a “protester” on the ground surrounded by cops, as if s/he has been attacked and beaten by them. Of course, they call these rioters “demonstrators”. This is sickening.
The object of these episodes are to make YOU question!
Question a government that can’t won’t protect you
or your property.
Question your self for believing in such a government.
Question the opposition, are they really a small fraction
or is the majority behind them.
Being unsure, is being unstable and that is what the
left thrives on. They are not unsure and every battle
ensures their belief in the cause, even if they lose
some members it only justifies their belief.
They WANT civil strife!

I’m guessing they’re not being arrested because “they” are likely the children of those in powerful positions of major corporations & govt.
Wait a minute, the cops don't need to defend themselves against great bodily harm? And you're suggesting it's up to the people to protect the cops who are supposed to uphold the law and are paid generously with top shelf benefits by the people?

Look what happened to that couple that DID. They got charged and THE POLICE illegally confiscated their weapons.
Day after day all this B.S. goes on without resistance of consequence. The cops are put in harm’s way without protection and are sitting ducks. The cops need to start busting some heads.
I’ve asked myself for several years why anyone would step up and become a police officer today.

I imagine it would only take one to draw and fire while yelling “I’m afraid for my life!”
The other 17 would get the message and join in.

First the police are being put in harms way and not allowed to respond by the politicians. Politicians are accountable, cowardly, STUPID, and have only their own interests at heart. Politicians are not going to solve this problem. What might help would be if patriotic Americans got into this fight in large numbers to support our govt, the Police, and counter the Marxists.
Fireworks are an explosive and a weapon, folks. Again, why are the police not arresting every single one of these terrorists throwing fireworks and attacking both the police and innocent people? Why are they letting them riot?
Maybe they just want to keep their jobs and continue to get paid?
