Actually, the news about death rates is good news. We have 1% of the population testing positive, or 3,500,000 and only 140,000 deaths, and we know that many many more that 1% of the population has contracted the virus. We have had annual flu deaths in the 80,000 range, so this is twice as band as a bad flu, not the end of the world. It will pass. Open the economy and stay safe, protect the vulnerable unlike what Cuomo did.
so this is twice as band as a bad flu, not the end of the world.
And they are mostly the elderly, rather than children. That matters.
It isn't even as bad as the worst flu years.
Adjusted for population growth, the 1918, 1957/1958 or 1968 flu pandemics killed more.
(This is the 3rd time that Boomers have been through this!)
“twice as band as a bad flu, not the end of the world. It will pass.”
Second that...
The death rate is only about 0.2%, maybe worse in third world countries. We are not third world.
A lot of folks forgot the reason for the Trump’s lockdown. It was to buy us time to manufacture medical supplies and to develop treatment plans (current deaths rates shows that).
We can reopen with some common sense. Look at the Asian countries they are not lock down. We need to watch and learn. We might have a vaccine real soon, our knowledge is not like it was in 1918.
