Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Monday spoke out against federal officers “rounding people up at will” in Portland, Ore., saying the handling of unrest there should be left to local law enforcement.
“We cannot give up liberty for security. Local law enforcement can and should be handling these situations in our cities but there is no place for federal troops or unidentified federal agents rounding people up at will,” Paul tweeted Monday.

You always speak too much and it diminishes the good things you say and do and that’s why you will Never, Ever be president.
When local law enforcement refuses or won’t be allowed to do their job because of local subversive politicians, someone higher up the food chain has to stop domestic terrorism. If the state and federal refuses, that leaves the people forced to perform vigilantism. What will it be, Sen. Paul ?
And what are you supposed to do when local politicians not only tell local law enforcement to stand down but also give the mob a green light to attack Federal buildings?
The Feds are targeting mob leaders. Too bad those leaders don't also include the politicians enabling them.

In general i would agree - but the city AND STATE has abdicated its responsibility to protect the citizens of these states allowing an active insurrection to take place.

In normal times, he’s right. But when the communists have captured governorships, mayoralties, DAs, etc, and are abetting the insurrection, it is time to forcibly put them down. The law enforcement agencies have become the problem in many cities with the police chiefs standing down at the mayor’s order.

I suppose he thinks US Marshals, the FBI, and other such services can’t operate in the US, as well. After all, local cops can do everything.
