White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Thursday that President Trump was thinking about Jeffrey Epstein’s mysterious suicide when he gave well-wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell on Tuesday.
Maxwell is jailed on federal charges of helping Epstein traffic and abuse girls, and Trump’s surprising word for her spurred conspiracy theories.
But McEnany said Trump was thinking about Epstein’s August 2019 death in custody.
“What the president was noting is that the last person who was charged in this case ended up dead in a jail cell and the president wants justice to be served for the victims in this case and he prefers this to play out in a courtroom,” McEnany said on Fox News.

The President has taken to a habit which is very common to all presidents. He has begun to speak in “shorthand” as though his audience knows the background of his statements.
His remarks could have been interpreted as actually wishing her luck with the case, or meaning he hopes she doesn’t die like Epstein.
That’s been clarified. He likes to speak simply and needs to remind himself that a general audience needs him to be very clear.
This habit of presidents is part of the reason the incumbent is unprepared and usually loses the first debate, after which his advisors get him to pay attention because he could lose the presidency.
I think Trump will be better prepared than most.

He seems to feel compelled to comment on everything which is unnecessary and risky. Sometimes it doesn’t always come out right.
Trump knows that since Maxwell has the goods on the Clintons, it wont take long for her to end up swimming with the fishes..I wish her well too, everyone associated with the Clintons ends up six feet under

Wishing someone well just seems like Trump’s “go to line” when he has nothing nice to say about someone but doesn’t want to attack them (Ex: Ginsberg ). It seemed rather off hand so I didn’t think much of it at the time until the internet pretended to be really upset about it.
I'm not. Let all the heads who have no sense of irony explode. This country would be a better place if that happened.

I sincerely believe that everyone everywhere understood exactly what he meant immediately but tried to play dumb so they could twist his words into something entirely different.
