On July 20, Nancy Pelosi said that if President Trump refuses to accept the results of the November election, he will have to be "fumigated" out of the White House. Fumigation is a technique used against insects, and the idea that human beings are insects has a long history in totalitarian discourse. Hitler described Jews as "vermin" and "parasites," a form of dehumanization that is always just one step away from physical violence. Speaker Pelosi should apologize immediately, and profusely, for her use of this inappropriate rhetoric.
Most thoughtful persons would agree that labeling another an "insect" is uncivil. A cultured individual who practices civility is tolerant of the opinions and beliefs of others, and indeed, toleration is the best measure of civility. One may be a Catholic, but he practices tolerance toward other Christian and non-Christian forms of belief, even including atheism and agnosticism. He may be a liberal, but he values the opinions of conservatives and treats conservatives with respect.
By this measure, Joe Biden and the radicals who now support him have not been civil. Biden now expresses contempt for conservative policies before even considering their potential value. So it was with President Trump's pledge to buy American-made goods. That pledge of "America First" drew harsh criticism from Biden and his party — until Biden stole the idea and made it part of his own platform. Biden could not bring himself to admit that Trump was right. That sort of contempt for another is the essence of incivility.
Like most liberals, Biden's contempt is all-encompassing. In Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., ultimately decided in Hobby Lobby's favor by the Supreme Court, Biden sided with those who would force persons of traditional Christian faith to pay for employees' contraceptives.

It’s not going unnoticed. On the city high street here there are a bunch of BLM signs, but in the neighborhoods Trump signs are popping up, as are American flags. I’ve seen no Hidin’ with Biden signs or bumper stickers at all, but the Progressives have people going door to door like Jehovah’s Witnesses. The proggies are the ones making all the noise, and I know this goes against the polling but I feel like the proggies are going to cause middle of the road Democrats to sit this one out for fear of making things worse.

All of this rhetoric from Pelosi, Schumer, Clinton, et al, is in preparation for the shellacking they’re going to take in Nov. They know that their candidate can’t win if they bring him out of the basement and let him speak publicly. Their plan: lay the seeds for saying the election is tainted, rule Biden incapacitated, and ride the VP choice into the WH. Their VP selection tells the direction they want for the country, not Biden.
I have long since stopped viewing them as fellow Americans with whom I disagree, and view them instead as Domestic Enemies of the United States against whom many of us have taken an oath to protect the Republic against.
They openly flaunt, ignore, and subvert the law. They view the Constitution as an obstacle and an impediment to be navigated around or removed. They openly lie to the citizenry. They are corrupt and lawless.
I am old enough to remember a Democratic Party that was American first and political adversary second. That all changed in the 1960’s reached full throat publicly in opposition to Ronald Reagan, and reached full maturity as enemies of this Republic with the election of a known anti-American, fully opposed to the Constitution, terrorist supporting, Marxist community organizing scumbag named Barack Obama.
And now you have people like Schumer, Pelosi, Omar, Occaiso-Cortez, a cabal of hired, appointed, and elected officials and about 95% of the media who openly and enthusiastically supported a coup against a legitimately elected President and approve of the use of the full power of the government to spy on and persecute the political opposition.
I cannot believe we have seen this in my short lifetime. But here we are.
