Sports providing cover for Black Lives Matter’s full picture
The New York Post ^ | July 25, 2020 | Phil Mushnick

Imagine a group called, say, Let’s Cure Cancer, was found to have nothing to do with curing cancer but with giving tips to arsonists. Think our sports would fully and publicly endorse Let’s Cure Cancer?

Thursday, about an hour before this season’s opener began with the Yankees and Nationals taking knees along the foul lines and the center field scoreboard in D.C. chanting “Black Lives Matter,” Ch. 4 News broadcast the surveillance video of a 12-year-old black kid in Brooklyn having the hell beaten and kicked out of him by five black teens.

The kid’s mother was beside herself with grief. A black neighbor, identified as Ken Garner, told Ch. 4, “We always talk about Black Lives Matter, but what are we doing to ourselves?”

The founders of BLM are admitted, proud “trained Marxists.” Black Lives Matter has almost nothing to do with black lives. Its goal is to destroy American historic symbols and institutions, not to demonstrate concern for the continuing and growing slaughter of blacks in our cities.

“Sports and big business. Absolutely shameless.”

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

That old Sam Adams guy did more than sell beer.

The Sports teams are showing who their master really is. To kneel to BLM is to kneel to a false god. You might as well rename them KTB (Kneel to Baal) and the almighty dollar..That is who you worship if you kneel...

I don't know anything about this Mushnick guy. But I've been forced to think about professional sports from a new perspective lately. There's no good reason for me to be a fan, except that people at times have claimed that Detroit is a huge sports fan town.

My grade school teacher brought her own TV to school so we could watch the 1968 Tigers in the World Series. All of us boys and girls gathered close to watch that tiny black and white screen, cheering and jeering with each other.

The lions last won a championship of any sort including winning a division in 1957. The same year I was born. I always thought that tied me to them in some way. The Red Wings were inspiring in the late 1990's. Excellence was something you worked hard at and they certainly did work hard. And for a time they were excellent.

Now I fear all pro sports having fallen into the pandemic narrative first, is moving on with this systemic racist narrative where basic math like 2 + 2 = 4 is racist, and Judaeo christian white people stuff. If pro sports is going to go that way and say 2 really big contracts plus 2 more doesn't require fans who are white to buy your products, there is nothing left for us to discuss.

Championships and excellence are cool. Stupid just isn't.

My hope is that Americans will turn the backs on professional sports who kneel to this crap. Salaries will go down the toilet

There’s a favorite retort to ‘all lives matter’, ‘it’s used as an “insult” or “dilutes” the BLM message’. It’s often repeated by those who have never visited the BLM website. The reason it’s been pounded into the useful idiots meager allotment of grey matter is because the real BLM needs the cover of these fools. Accepting ‘All lives matter’ or some other equivalent separates the real BLM and their true message.

There’s going to be no escaping the problems by fleeing to high school sports. The school boards are going to be supporting high school athletes trending toward the same ideologies — unless people like you get involved.

I love that Sam Adams quote.

I almost got fired for having it in my cube 12 years ago when The AntiChrist got elected into office and a black Karen complained to management on me.

I think that if the narrative was honest George Floyd died of a drug overdose. Floyd had both meth and fentanyl in his system and most importantly acting violently. The reality is tens of thousands of people are dying of drugs not police brutality.

Not much new about the drug blight in America but racism gets the media fired up because it fits their narrative. Much easier to extort money from big corporations with the racism charge when defined by liberals means everyone is guilty.

When someone asks me if I’m for BLM, I just say, “Oh, the defund the police movement? Of course not!”
