Stanley Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, spoke to Fox News about what he called a "tremendous accomplishment" of the Trump administration, one that the mainstream media apparently failed to notice.
In an interview on "Life Liberty & Levin" that aired Sunday, Kurtz shed light on the "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule," (AFFH) a law added by former President Barack Obama to the 1968 Fair Housing Act, which the conservative scholar said has aimed to expand federal influence over suburbia.
On Thursday, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Dr. Ben Carson announced he's stripping Obama's AFFH Rule from the Fair Housing Act, saying the rule "was an overreach of unelected Washington bureaucrats into local communities" -- a point that Kurtz echoed.

They can use the same rationale that Chief Justice Roberts used to preserve DACA - the procedures were not correctly followed for rule changes.

It’s disappointing Barack Obama is refusing to speak about the epidemic of black-on-black crime now that his presidency is over, according to Rosalynn Carter’s former press secretary Barbara Heineback.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Justice Department, African Americans die from homicide at 13 times the rate of white Americans, with the bulk of those homicides are black-on-black incidents.
Ms Heinback told Sky News President Obama should use his office to draw attention to the crisis.
“Why hasn’t he said anything, he refuses to talk about black-on-black crime,” she said. “You are having more murders in Chicago, Illinois over a weekend than we did over the Vietnam War.” “He refuses to speak about it.”

I had heard nothing about it until the coverage of the President’s “Suburban Housewives” tweet ... maybe that tweet and its wording were shrewd tactical moves after all.
The less publicized this stuff is the better. The gains are known and felt in the real world. The press can’t yell racist over it. maybe the bureaucrats that created it will die or move on. (hopefully)
The Marxist philosophical rationale that Obama took in formulating AFFH gargantuan rule was “disparate impact”.
That was the same rationale he used in other areas of law.
Behind it is the Marxist “diversity” agendas, that wants to artificially manipulate all private decisions by law, to manufacture “proportionate” (racial, ethnic, ect, ect) outcomes, in every aspect of life. The pretense of the idea (and it is pretense and ignorant of human nature) is that if outcomes do not reflect proportionality then de facto “discrimination” has occurred.
To put it in simple terms, it cannot imagine a “black” family deciding to choose a suburban housing area dominated by “black” families. [There are many such very nice middle class suburbs around the country]. One would have to similarly claim so many Chinese dominate Chinatown in New York City due to “discrimination”, not Chinese families desires to live among other Chinese.
That is only the misguided housing part of the “disparate impact” idea.
They - the Marxists - have been attempting to apply that same concept in every industry.
It defies human nature.
It makes the pretense that both sexes and all races and ethnic groups should have an interest in every form of work and professions fully proportionate to their share of the population.
I remember articles where even Hollywierd was trying to find “discrimination” for why “Latinos” were not represented in the movie industry, proportionate to their share of the population. That idea presumes that Latinos “should be” attracted to work in the movie industry as much as any other group. Why? The Marxists cannot even ask that question.
Based on writing regs that would question every form of “disparate impact” in housing, Obama set about writing massive “cures” for every spec of it, via increased federal control over every local decision directly or indirectly impacting housing, with the goals of manufacturing, by regulatory fiat, “diversity”, with not even any need to look at “discrimination” for any such lack of diversity. The Marxists throw out “discrimination” as an important factor, because even without discrimination, it is the contrived “proportionate” results they seek to manufacture.
