If I can give you some Naval Academy parent advice: please make sure your granddaughter is well grounded in conservative roots. My stepson went into the Academy 1n 1988, a very strong conservative. He came out a very strong progressive with absolutely no ability to perceive end results. Brilliant but a complete common sense idiot savant. I say this in sadness. This is the result of Military Academy progressive teaching. The Naval Academy isn’t the only one. The end result? My stepson is now in the Pentagon. Helping to make big decisions. On course to be an Admiral within months. And the thought of our COUNTRY in his hands scares me. It truly does.

Having been a P-3 airborne ASW operator during the 70s thru the earl 90s, all submarines were identified only as “target #x”. Just sayin’.

This actually isn't from be but it's from a survivor's son who I know from our High School and their Memorial Association. I'm sure they will have the usual displays and artifacts. Only eight original Survivors are left and the reunion was cancelled and changed to a virtual reunion posting for all to see on YouTube. In addition a USS Indianapolis Gold Medal Ceremony will be shown from Congress on July,30th and 11:00 AM.

One of the most memorable experiences of my life was spending a few hours with the elderly gentleman who was the ship’s doctor on the USS Indianapolis when she was sunk. We talked of many subjects, but also of that experience.
It was humbling and sobering.
He said, some fifty years later, that he still could not say or hear The Lord’s Prayer without choking up, and even as he told me, he choked up.
God Bless those men and their Captain, Captain McVay.

Did you fly out of Moffat in Mountain View, CA? If yes, you went over our house many times. Those P-3s couldn’t have been more than 800 feet up and rattled and shook everything in the house!
I spent a week on an LSD with my son who was a Marine at the time. I wouldn’t trade it for a month on a Carnival Cruise ship.
Same thing happened to my brother at USMA.
They still can’t manage to overhaul a ship without burning it to the waterline or sail a ship through crowded waters or avoid collisions. Those are just basics.
Other than that, OK.
I think that their main goal is to first abolish individual thinking. Once their are indoctrinated in group think, the progressive message is easily dispensed. It’s easily proven, IMHO. They all come away with specific catch phrases and ways of explaining their new and “improved” view of the the Country, the World, religion, politics, even attitudes toward their own family members.
