My son’s high school is planning to open with 2 days a week in person and 2 days “remote.”

My sophomore says that if it goes all online for a prolonged period, he won’t be able to do it. He’s in Honor’s English, a grade ahead in math, but it was really hard for him this spring.

If it all goes down the toilet, I’m planning to help him find a GED program and then get him to work.

“remote learning” is awful and our whole nation is doing it—senselessly.

Any rising HS senior might consider just getting the GED right now and skip this coming fall which looks like a sh-t show—what could have been a nice senior year ruined by the unions—seniors could instead just get their GED and move right into community college instead (also remote most likely but at least moving on with life) or a job. No point in finishing out HS this way with no sports, activities, music, drama, graduations, proms, senior grad activities, pictures, school spirit, friends, etc. It’s really awful. For seniors, this year was supposed to be their special year and now they are stuck on their beds looking at laptops all day. Truly awful.

Thank you teachers unions! Way to go.
