New jobless claims have risen for the second week in a row, after dropping for 15 straight weeks, as spiking coronavirus cases delay plans to reopen or cause some states to backpedal. The Department of Labor said on Thursday that 1.416 million Americans filed for unemployment in the week ended on July 25, an increase of 12,000 from the prior week. It marked the 19th straight week that more than 1 million people have applied for unemployment benefits.

The shut downs - not the virus - are having their intended affect. No sarcasm, it’s what the Dims want.
Absolutely, the Domestic enemies do not care about this country or the people, all they care about is power and if it takes driving this country towards another Great depression so be it. If it takes outright murdering people by infecting nursing homes, so be it, all that matters is that Nancy Pelosi has power.

I’ve seen that chart from CDC and I can’t make sense of it. It doesn’t align with the daily stats on sites like Johns Hopkins and Worldometer, which has been showing over 1,000 deaths per day (about double where it was at the beginning of the month). I don’t know why they are so different.
Oh, I’m not afraid. I’m pragmatic. I moved from Seattle to a 32 acre hobby farm in south central KY nine years ago. I’ve got food, two streams, eggs, wildlife, and they just finished my 30x60 shop and 25 acres of woods to fuel the heater. We’re covered even if the grid collapses. But this stuff can’t be ignored.
Our response is not just a “flesh wound”. These things take time to fully unwind, but fully unwind it will - probably making 2021 a LOT more interesting than this year has been.
I said in mid April that if the lockdown went past May 1st, we’d see rioting in May. The rioters came through at the very last weekend of the month. And look where we are now.
One thing I learned during the last financial meltdown about human nature is that we are incredibly adaptable. I warned that Seattle house prices could drop 20% and that sounded like crazy talk - even to me. I was mocked for it. Yet they went down far more than that.
And what was the response? “It’s a great buying opportunity!” People just ignored that people were losing their homes in droves and walking away from others. It was just the new normal.
And here we are now, wearing masks, accepting violence in our cities, watching millions get laid off and cities and states seeing their “plumb” economies becoming prunes. This doesn’t happen in a vacuum and it will affect people.
But it will just become the new normal, just like life in 1932 became the new normal.
Maybe because Johns Hopkins and Worldometer are lying. I said a few months ago the closer we come to the election the more deaths the Domestic enemies are going to report and that’s exactly what is happening. I assume by the end of October they’ll be saying 100 million people a day are dying, and if not, they’ll get people like Andrew Cuomo to mass murder more elderly
