The Chinese government has facilitated the mass transfer of Uyghur and other ethnic minority1 citizens from the far west region of Xinjiang to factories across the country. Under conditions that strongly suggest forced labour, Uyghurs are working in factories that are in the supply chains of at least 82 well-known global brands in the technology, clothing and automotive sectors, including Apple, BMW, Gap, Huawei, Nike, Samsung, Sony and Volkswagen...
China has attracted international condemnation for its network of extrajudicial re-education camps in Xinjiang.7 This report exposes a new phase in Chinas social re-engineering campaign targeting minority citizens, revealing new evidence that some factories across China are using forced Uyghur labour under a state-sponsored labour transfer scheme that is tainting the global supply chain...
Companies using forced Uyghur labour in their supply chains could find themselves in breach of laws which prohibit the importation of goods made with forced labour or mandate disclosure of forced labour supply chain risks...

"In all, ASPIs research has identified 82 foreign and Chinese companies directly or indirectly benefiting from the use of Uyghur workers outside Xinjiang through potentially abusive labour transfer programs as recently as 2019:

Some brands are linked with multiple factories."
Cool.
No free rides for them Weegers.
In the first case study, a factory in eastern China that manufactures shoes for US company Nike is equipped with watchtowers, barbed-wire fences and police guard boxes. The Uyghur workers, unlike their Han counterparts, are reportedly unable to go home for holidays (see page 8).
Samsung has multiple factories in China, that they built, own, and manage directly. They were employing North Koreans there (cheaper than Chinese labor) until President Trump signed an executive order forbidding products made by North Korean labor. Samsung had to shift gears and replace the North Koreans. No doubt to include the Uyghur slave labor.
Boycott Samsung, buy American.
I’m so glad you posted this. Saw it last week and then couldn’t find it.
Awful to know I have things made by these poor souls.
I say the managers at these companies deserve to be beaten with an uyghur stick.
Glad I don’t see New Balance on the list.
“Boycott Samsung, buy American.”
What American firm produces a smart phone or television in the USA?
“I say the managers at these companies deserve to be beaten with an uyghur stick.”
So, what about a similar issue at which the Chinese are a world leader, Forced Abortion.
In the merely “abortion-voluntary” US (actually, there’s compulsion in about 2/3 of cases), various organizations are at pains to claim that they rigorously segregate their monies from the abortion economy for other, “non-abortion” “services”.
Which companies? Adobe, Aetna, Allstate, American Express, Amgen, AutoZone, Avon, Bank of America, Bath & Body Works, Ben & Jerrys, Boeing, BP, Charles Schwab, Clorox, Craigslist, Converse, Deutsche Bank, Dockers, Energizer, Expedia, ExxonMobil, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Frito Lay, General Electric, Groupon, Intuit, Jiffy Lube, JPMorgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, Kaiser Permanente, Kraft Heinz, Levi Strauss, Liberty Mutual, March of Dimes, Microsoft, Mondelez International, Monsanto, Morgan Stanley, Nike, Oracle, Patagonia, PayPal, PepsiCo, Pfizer, Progressive Insurance, Prudential, Qualcomm, Starbucks, Shell, Susan G. Komen, Unilever, United Airlines, United Way, US Bank, Verizon, Wells Fargo.
Now, go back to the original scope, slavery vs. abortion (historically, closely related issues, without explanation).
Which of those major corporations that benefit from modern-day, ethnic-slavery are willing to try to “document” just how they segregate their explicitly slavery-orientated and “non-slavery” operations?
Excellent points. Thanks.
Tibetans to let, 50 cents
No wage, no food, no air
And the Left don't really care
That's a problem. These articles incite panic, but don't address the problem of an intertwined global economy. Our "leaders" allowed our factories to be replaced by foreign entities to the point that it is difficult to determine the nationality of a product.
The article states "In all, ASPIs research has identified 83 foreign and Chinese companies directly or indirectly benefiting..."
Note the "indirectly benefiting" phrase. The list: Abercrombie & Fitch, Acer, Adidas, Alstom, Amazon, Apple, ASUS, BAIC Motor, BMW, Bombardier, Bosch, BYD, Calvin Klein, Candy, Carters, Cerruti 1881, Changan Automobile, Cisco, CRRC, Dell, Electrolux, Fila, Founder Group, GAC Group (automobiles), Gap, Geely Auto, General Motors, Google, Goertek, H&M, Haier, Hart Scha ner Marx, Hisense, Hitachi, HP, HTC, Huawei, iFlyTek, Jack & Jones, Jaguar, Japan Display Inc., L.L.Bean, Lacoste, Land Rover, Lenovo, LG, Li-Ning, Marks & Spencer, Mayor, Meizu, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Microso , Mitsubishi, Mitsumi, Nike, Nintendo, Nokia, The North Face, Oculus, Oppo, Panasonic, Polo Ralph Lauren, Puma, Roewe, SAIC Motor, Samsung, SGMW, Sharp, Siemens, Skechers, Sony, TDK, Tommy Hilfiger, Toshiba, Tsinghua Tongfang, Uniqlo, Victorias Secret, Vivo, Volkswagen, Xiaomi, Zara, Zegna, ZTE.
As for directly benefiting, here's one company: Strategic partners listed on O-Film Technologys website include: Acer, ASUS, Amazon, BAIC Motor, Changan Automobile, Dell, GAC Group (automobiles), Geely Auto, General Motors, HP, HTC, Huawei, Lenovo, LG, Meizu, Microso , Oppo, SAIC Motor, Samsung, SGMW, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE.
One should target companies that are strategic partners with the Chinese or those companies that build and operate companies in China that directly employ the slave labor. One of those is Samsung.
Lebron James? Has anyone heard from Lebron James?
He wouldn’t be racist?
is that how you say it.....”weggers”?
The NBA doesn’t care.
