PHOENIX – U.S. Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona admitted to 11 ethics violations and agreed to paying a $50,000 fine, the House Ethics Committee announced Thursday.

The fifth-term Phoenix Republican had been under investigation for two years over allegations that his office misused funds.

“As part of a resolution Representative Schweikert negotiated with the ISC (Investigative Subcommittee), he agreed to admit to all eleven counts in the Statement of Alleged Violations adopted by the ISC, accept a sanction of reprimand and a $50,000 fine, and waive all further procedural rights in this matter provided to him by House or Committee Rule,” the ethics committee said in a press release.

In this Congress the House Ethics Committee is probably the equivalent of the UN Human Rights Commission.

No idea what this guy did or didn’t do. Regardless, he’s in his fifth term. It’s about time for him to term-limit himself. He must already be a creature of the deep state by now. He can save his soul by leaving DC and working for a living back at home.

Yes. The Left is taking over Arizona. Thanks in large part to the Dem Maricopa County recorder, who was sponsored in 2016 by OurRevolution. Ballot harvesting in 2018 has destroyed the Republican majority in Arizona. Schweikert is my Congressman. He is a great guy. I want the details of his transgressions.

And DR Hiral Tiperneni lost her race to a Debbie Lesko, in a different District in 2018. Now she’s running in my District? WHERE DOES SHE LIVE ANYWAY??

I didn’t know anything about him or his opponent. The idea of a self-imposed term limits is healthy for the party. Anyone abiding by the term limit would announce at the beginning of his last term and then allow folks to fight it out in the next primary. It gives time for people to plan, campaign and that necessary evil, raise money.
