I dunno, I think Trump laid out a good outline strategy the other day when speaking to reporters on the way to Texas.
The House thinks if they hold out they can force the Senate to come closer to their side.
But Trump put it pretty plain: 1) Extend the benefits, 2) prevent evictions and 3) liability protections.
If the Senate passes a simple bill like that and sends it to the House I don’t see how the House can reject it. Because the political reality is every GOP candidate will go home for recess campaigning telling the voters that they offered relief for renters and the unemployed and the Democrats rejected it. “The reason you got nothing is because the Democrats refused to give you something”.
Why would they? Isn't that a total capitulation?
