Lib state bailouts and throwing a ton at the post office so they’ll be “ready” for all those mail in ballots. You heard Obama bring that up at eulogy the other day. But the Rs aren’t talking about those issues, they are stupidly talking about lowballing UI enhancements because “people make more on unemployment so they’re refusing to go back to work”.

Are some choosing that, no doubt. But when filing you have to affirm you have not been offered work. Untruthful answers can -and in this state have- lead to charges of fraud. Just because some don’t do the right thing we don’t deny the rest.

That meme about Trump just being in the way is proving more true by the day.

Correct me if I’m wrong, I think you two misunderstand that Turtle is speaking of *any* plan.
Not just of a plan that Dems will accept.

Though I expect the Dems, and the Trump-haters, will soon accept relief for the workers put out of jobs by mandates.

I will have to look at the names and see who is not up for re-election for a long while and could expect to get away with hurting workers... if the media works hard enough to protect them.

Giving every unemployed person in the country a flat payment of $600/week on top of what they were already getting paid through their state unemployment insurance was always a bad idea. I understood why they hurried into place before, but there’s no excuse to continue it as originally implemented.

Continue this program indefinitely and you effective have two major Democrat/socialist measures imposed without so much as a public debate on the matter: a $15/hour minimum wage, coupled with a “universal basic income” of $15/hour.

Even with 40 million Americans allegedly unemployed, I still see “Help Wanted” signs all over businesses in my area. It makes absolutely no sense to continue this farce.
