WASHINGTON — It was one of the few issues on which President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. disagreed — how far to go in limiting the influence of lobbyists in government.

The vice president privately complained that his boss’s effort to slam shut the revolving door between K Street and the administration would deprive it of experienced talent, and he bristled when Mr. Obama’s aides tried to block him from hiring a well-connected Washington operator who had lobbied for pharmaceutical and insurance companies, credit agencies and others.

Eight years later, that same confidant, Steve Ricchetti, is helping to run Mr. Biden’s presidential campaign. Also involved to varying degrees are other advisers, operatives, fund-raisers and allies with deep connections to Washington’s lucrative lobbying, communications and strategic consulting industry.

That puts Mr. Biden at odds with powerful elements of his party’s liberal base. Increasingly, they are expressing concern that the military contractors, Wall Street banks and other major corporations that paid members of Mr. Biden’s inner circle while they were out of government could hold disproportionate power in a Biden administration.

All they have to do is not vote for Biden.

They still are not interested in the billions that went missing in Ukraine, and the million-dollar bribes to cover it up. They still are not interested in China’s billion and a half bribe.

Big industry vs big university. I guess they think big university has more virtue signaling credits by way of being almost totally unaccountable for doing anything useful.

“ The vice president privately complained that his boss’s effort to slam shut the revolving door between K Street and the administration would deprive it of experienced talent,”

Obama did no such thing...

That’s the least of his worries. He and his supporters have got to be scared to death he may come out of his basement and try to form a coherent sentence.

This is a way to apply pressure to make a “balanced” ticket when the only one that matters is the VP since Biden is not going to be there long.

Is Big Telecom a problem for the Left? Shouldn’t be since it attacks the Right every damn day.

CNN is ATT
NBC, MSNBC are Comcast

They’re upset because they want to be in total control. They’re leery of the possibility that the big corporations, big banks, etc. might have some influence in calling the shots.

I can’t help but think this Biden run is nothing more than a mulligan or a sacrificial mutton (LOL). They already know Trump is unbeatable so they picked the only guy who was known well enough but who would not suffer politically in the future for a slam dunk loss. The VP pick doesn’t usually suffer the same negative association - at least not Democrats.

The Ds may be taking a pass on this election.

We must still give them a mighty crush in November.

It’s possible they’re trying to set up a brokered convention to get Biden off the ticket and crown . . . we’ve all seen the guesses.

Oh, I have EVERY intention to help ensure that happens! It should be nothing short of an utter humiliation. They’ll see what a REAL mandate is all about. Normal Americans have had it with this anarchy and its Democrat cheerleaders.
