I hear ya, bro. On my named accounts, I've always been pretty neutral, cause I don't want to alienate friends with different viewpoints, but today, it's dangerous to even have an online presence with your real name.
I always tell my students not to say anything on social media if you wouldn't stand on a table and shout it in a room full of strangers with your mom sitting ten feet away.
The next scary thing is that people can accuse you of anything online, and a bunch of people will run with it, as long as it fits their narrative.
A LOT of big names are abandoning twitter, cause it's a cesspool and they never know when they'll get cancelled. Look how fast Ellen and J, K. Rowling went from goddesses to scum in the twitterverse.
Not having an online presence on twitter, at least for non-famous people, prevents others from tagging you in a post and smearing your name to your friends.
Highly-Edited Soundbites = ABC
Still on the job of fake news
Twitter is for twits. The world would be a much better place if this abomination ceased to exist.
I watched the video and Floyd behaved like an idiot the entire time until he hit the ground and got a knee on his neck. Time and again he failed to follow the officers commands. He tried to get out of his vehicle with the officer saying stay in it. For someone having been shot he would not show the officer his right hand while in the vehicle for several seconds when all he had to do was put his hands on the steering wheel. Then when the officer told him to step out he refused and started his BS until they finally out of the vehicle.
Once out of the vehicle he then resisted being cuffed. When told to get in the police car he hollers I can’t sit in a car because I am claustrophobic, yet was perfectly fine sitting in his own vehicle. The officers up until the knee on the neck put up with a lot of whining and typical BS offered by career criminals.
I think the prosecutors over charged and if the officers can show he did not die from the stupid knee to the neck they will walk. It will be hard to charge murder one if Floyd is shown to have died from other causes but a manslaughter would be possible for the officer with the knee on his neck.
Yes....you are correct...manslaughter charge is possible, but the bottom line is Floyd caused his own death from a drug overdose!!! Mr. Floyd was not the gentle soul the media made him out to be!!!
I feel sorry for Floyd for like some many druggies, he was truly at heart, a gentle man. Sadly, he was a modern day, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde!!! Sad!!!
My son told me about a woman last week they got a call on when he was on patrol. She was driving erratically and about hit several vehicles including the responding sergeant on that shift. The poor guy she about hit had stopped and told the officers what happened and didn’t know her from Adam’s house cat, then went to talk with her about her erratic driving.
I wasn’t driving erratic you are crazy she told the sergeant and I never got close to that **&*(&^&*^ guy! The sergeant told her, YOU ABOUT HIT ME AT ONE POINT! Why are you out here driving like this? Someone is breaking into my house and I am trying to catch them in the act they come and go. The sergeant questioned her for a bit and determined she was not drinking but was probably coming down and about to bottom out on some drug. He determined she was safe to drive and told her get in your car and go home now.
Then the mouth started on the poor guy who had called the police on her. I’m going to get you! You better watch out! The sergeant said shut your mouth before you say something that’s gonna get you arrested, go home! Nope couldn’t do it and threatened the mans life and the sergeant told her step out of the vehicle and she did the Floyd whining freaking out, whoa is me BS routine and said I am not getting out of this car! The sergeant opened the door and said last warning step out or we will remove you. F*&k you was the response and him and another officer went hands on and she started fighting and tried to climb on the roof of the car. Finally the sergeant got her in a head lock and said one last time stop resisting and come down now to another F87K you! He said to her I want you to remember YOU did this to yourself and he hip tossed her into the pavement head first at which several officers swarmed her and cuffed her and took her to jail.
Flash forward five hours and the same woman was out of jail, had taken her medication and she calmly walked into the police station and asked for her drivers license back and then proceed very humbly apologize profusely to all the officers who happened to be there that she had fought and said she had been off her meds and taken other things which had her really messed up and she was bi-polar. At that point she was a totally different woman.
