David Lacey is being charged with three counts of assault with a firearm, according to a charging document obtained by Politico.
The chaotic scene unfolded on March 2, when protesters affiliated with Black Lives Matter L.A. and other local organizations descended on Lacey’s Granada Hills home for a pre-dawn protest. Several of the demonstrators knocked on Lacey’s door, and her husband answered brandishing a handgun.

Dawn in LA is 6:07 am. If some bunch of people bang on my door before dawn, they can be sure I would be greeting them with a gun in hand too, if I even bother to come to the door.

If you are not in Califoria, you belong there. NO one has a “right” to pound on my door for any reason, period. Someone comes to the door and rings the bell and stands back, it is up to me to decide whether to answer it. They start pounding and threatening, they will not like the response.
Our sheriff here in Fl made the point a few months ago. Seems a miscreant decided to break into someone’s home and got shot dead. Press was in a rage as he was not armed. Sheriff said well, you got the realize in this country everyone is armed. Break into their homes and you will probably get shot. End of story.

If my wife and children were on my side of the door and someone was pounding on it on the other side in the predawn darkness the thought of prosecution would be the last thing on my mind
I agree, but I would be in my house and not pass the threshold, yes I would be pointing my gun at them but from completely inside my home if I lived in the City.
