He may have typoed mg for IU.
1000 mg of Vitamin D = 25,000 IU. People take up to 10,000 IU Vitamin D so that is only 2,500 mg, and that is on the extreme end. Many people take 1000-5000 IU or 250-1250 mg. So yeah, 10000 IU would be dangerous level. I am sure it was a simple typo. It is easy to make a basic mistake knocking out quick posts. I do it all the time.

1000 IU is 25 mcg. That is what I meant to say. So never mind my math above. My point is, he may have meant IU instead of either mcg or mg. I don’t know. IU seems to be the most common unit of measure discussing Vitamin D.

No, it is not a simple typo- It is the FDA gods changing the system from IU's to mcg's or mg's. Previously, Vitamin D and Vitamin E were sold in IU's, and now I think that they are labelled in both, but no one explained all this (changeover), they just did it.
