And note that Chicago has recently added 200 police to the downtown tourist area. They are apparently powerless.

There are four forces at work here -
Looters who simply want free stuff and excitement (this appears to be the flash mob type - no signs - no protest - just larceny and vandalism)
Antifa/BLM - organized anarchists whose stated goal is to destroy our country as we know it
Democrat politicians who run these locales and somehow believe this kind of anarchy and destruction in their own cities will be a winner for them in November. They are also afraid to call out looters or the organized Marxists bunch because Orange Man did and Orange Man bad
The last group is the media that is mostly dishonest about the three groups above because they are also down with the democrat politician plan and Orange Man bad.
We will not watch every city destroyed. Only those cities where the leaders tolerate or even encourage this will burn or be destroyed. My city did not tolerate looting or rioting on Day 1. The public supported the police and the police stopped it.
Look at Detroit. It is possible for a democrat city to say they will not tolerate looting and they support the police.
Don’t transpose what you see in Chicago, Portland, or Seattle to other cities or flyover country. Those communities that want to tolerate this stuff and handcuff the police are vulnerable. Those that don’t will be fine.
They want Trump to act, but the primary responsibility for stopping this lies with the failed leadership of these cities.
