CANTON, Ga. — The first letter went out on Aug. 4, one day after students in the Cherokee County School District returned to their classrooms for the first time since the eruption of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Dear Parents,” wrote Dr. Ashley Kennerly, the principal of Sixes Elementary School. “I am writing this letter in order to communicate that a student in 2nd grade has tested positive for Covid-19.”
By the time the last bell rang on Friday afternoon, principals at 10 other schools had sent similar letters to families in Cherokee County, a bucolic and politically conservative stretch of suburbs north of Atlanta. This week, more letters went out.
Altogether, nearly 1,200 students and staff members in the district have already been ordered to quarantine. On Tuesday, one high school closed its doors until at least Aug. 31. A second high school followed on Wednesday.

Or is this pseudo quarantine as policy by the school district?
The reality is that this virus will be in every school soon.
The local school board needs to decide what it is going to do when it does.
After all the months of lying, faking statistics and outright deceitful behavior I believe none of this crapola anymore.

Well that didn’t take long.
No one with any sense does. The virus has reached the point where politicians, drug companies, hospitals, universities and entrepreneurs of all kinds are making a lot of money using the pandemic in various ways. Those people NEVER want the country to open back up, and they’ll do everything they can to keep it closed.
Doesn’t matter, They could be coughing up blood and a certain % of parents will try to send them anyway. That will be interesting to see play out.
My God, how many times did my son come home from the Hort with a message that they had a case of (take your pick): scarlet fever, chicken pox, black death, lice. (OK kidding about the black death). That and for most of his youthful years he dragged in the diesease de jour to share with us.
We started out with a 15 day window to “bend the curve” and now we are at masks for all.
And in a month or two we have the normal flu season so what do all the Crying Karen's do then?

If they could test the students on opening day, why didn’t they do it during the week before school started?
Seems like a failing on the part of the school administration.
It’s the second day of school.
How are these kids testing positive? Are they testing kids at school? Were they sick? If they were sick, why send them to school?
Exactly, remember if kids don’t go to school, they will die of starvation

That’s why it’s important to know who issued the quarantine order.
Sounds contrived, coordinated, hoaxing

Not all bad news is contrived.
How and why did they test that many people in one day...
It could be as simple as a kid getting tested BEFORE school starts (due to an exposure risk or signs of illness) and the results being forwarded by a parent to the school after school starts.
Then, “out of an abundance of caution”, the school and district “orders” the teacher of that class and all her students into “home quarantine”.
The question before society: Is that the right way to handle a positive student? What about a positive staff member?
