White House Deputy: H-1B Visas ‘Cannibalize’ U.S. Workforce
Breitbart ^ | 13 Aug 2020 | NEIL MUNRO

Posted on 08/14/2020 6:00:13 AM PDT by NobleFree

The skilled American workforce is being cannibalized by Congress’s H-1B outsourcing program, a top White House aide told Breitbart News Daily.

“The H-1B visa is sort of a Trojan horse to bring in folks who cannibalize our own workforce and ultimately take any number of intellectual property secrets, or proprietary information, back to their home countries,” Theo Wold told Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily host Alex Marlow.

Wold is a deputy assistant to the President for domestic policy.

The program’s flaws are highlighted by President Donald Trump’s August 3 decision to stop the H1B outsourcing of up to 300 jobs at the government-controlled Tennessee Valley Authority, Wold told Breitbart:

'TVA runs a number of critical dams in the southeast, has proprietary source code that was formed by the U.S. government to control the electrical-generation grid, and also has access to a nuclear power station. So not only were we firing American workers … we were also bringing in foreign nationals to run critical national security infrastructure.

'Your listeners need to know the H-1B [program] hinges on this idea when it was created by Congress back in the early late 1980s, early 1990s, that wherever there’s a shortage of qualified of willing American labor, private sector employers can bring in foreign labor units to take positions in our economy. The problem here of course is there are plenty of qualified and willing American [TVA] workers — so qualified that their employer trusted them to train their foreign replacements.'

[...] Wold made his statement before Breitbart posted the news that the Department of State has issued a bulletin allowing companies to import more H-1B workers

Worse it guts our seed corn. US university students looking at supply and demand, select other career options.

No Shiite. And when if CamelToe Harris is elected VP, millions of this Indian scum will be headed to the US to steal American jobs.

Trump better win. Or kiss the American middle class good-bye

Darn straight. If telling the truth about H1b were the only thing the Trump admin had done, I would still vote for them on that basis alone.

Finally someone is admitting that the "shortage of skilled workers" excuse was a lie all along -- it was really about "finding skilled workers to whom we can pay starvation wages, and who will put up with any sort of cr*p because they risk deportation otherwise".

That's the most important part. Say one thing, do another. It's a head fake. India is now a strategic ally in our new Cold War against China and Trump is not going to be willing to p*ss them off.

It is far, far worse than anyone realizes. In the Philadelphia area, you can travel nearby towns that look like Calcutta India. The Indians have now taken over the hiring positions and are ONLY hiring other Indians.

The first thing they do is get both spouses working in high paying STEM jobs then proceed to have anchor baby children. They vote mostly Democrat.

It is total madness that the GOP in congress has allowed this to go on.

Yes. I have been saying since the 90s that the H1B is a scam.

It’s basically a wage depressor for skilled workers

H1B is to skilled workers what illegal immigrants are to unskilled.

“India is now a strategic ally in our new Cold War against China and Trump is not going to be willing to p*ss them off.”

And Modi is a Trump fan so that is another reason nothing will be done.

If you’ve spoken with any H1B’s lately you’ll learn that anymore they are certainly NOT “the best and the brightest”. Most of the time you end up scratching your head and wondering “you’re here WHY, exactly?”

H1b for tech/IT labor and Mexicans for low skills labor.

Indian-American Kamalala will be a great friend to Indian workers, here and in India.

"they are certainly NOT “the best and the brightest”

The issue was never about the Best and Brightest - just the cheapest.

How many H1Bs are here from Japan, Germany, or the UK?
Answer - practically none.

For many of them: They send their tasks (and $$) to associates in India, who do the actual work (overnight) and send back the results. Most of their work day is spent looking busy.

Amen! This has been a scam to crush the bargaining power of Americans in their own country. This is not the free market. This is rigging the game to the advantage of large corporations.

I was a 99’er, I know BS rhetoric when I see it. Trump has projected falling unemployment numbers even though thousands have fallen off the official unemployment rolls thanks to congress inaction, just as Obama did. He mentioned the TVA as a sterling moment in the war to help American workers, that’s it? That’s all we’re going to get four years later after the campaign promise. All the while employing an ex-lobbyist for the indian invasion as DHS head and this Pompeo POS as SOS. I can now see accurately Pompeo is going to be given a pass, no surprise there. That’s exactly why he gave these two enablers powers to ignore his recent executive action on immigration. What about the Schenectadty GE workers looking at a foreign nation building generators for OUR power plants. Now we find foreign labor has been imbedded into the DOD of all places. What could go wrong? Or giving away the jet engine business to the indians following the next election, mark my words, damn national security.
