Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith will plead guilty to making a false statement in the first criminal case arising from U.S. Attorney John Durham's review of the investigation into links between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign, two sources close to the matter tell Fox News.

A bigger fish told him to alter the email, he would not do it without direction. He provided that name, more evidence to convict a higher up. Typical way they do these investigations.

Everyone knew what Clinesmith did and what he would likely be charged with. He is the one that changed a key statement in a document supporting a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page. Durham now knows everything that Clinesmith knows.
Tom Fitton predicted this last night on Twitter. He said it wouldn’t be an Obama Admin member.

I’m sitting in a hospital lobby right now, forced to watch CNN. Your description is pretty much what they said. I hadn’t watched CNN in ages, so I forgot how disconnected from reality they are.
For one thing, it opens the DOJ/FBI to a whole boatload of civil lawsuits from the victims of this malfeasance. An explicit admission of guilt will remove any indemnification for the agency and the individuals involved.
