Rotating outages were underway Friday evening after a Stage 3 emergency went into effect due to higher demand for power.
Southern California Edison said at the direction of the California Independent System Operator, they were are implementing rotating power outages.
According to SCE, the rotating outages typically last about an hour.
Just before 7:30 p.m., the City of Anaheim said rolling power outages were underway across the city and would last "no longer than 15 minutes."
Sweat green. I love it when people get exactly what they asked for and hate it.
I subscribe to SCE alert system. So, power went out and the alert phone call came AFTER the first 30 mins of the outage.
I have notified SCE about seven times in the past year(online)that the street light in front of our house stays on 24 hours a day. Still stays on. I give up.
Swelter in place orders have been issued.
I am in LA Department of Water and Power territory...
I have not heard of any blackouts in my area...
I heard from folks in Palmdale whose power was out for a least a couple hours.
It is not a good time of the year to live out in Palmdale or Lancaster right now...Too hot...

It’s so, European to shut down power plants and not have electricity .

They’ll have to start buying power from their Mexican neighbours and the natural gas generators.

Didn’t PG&E recently file for bankruptcy because of the judgement against them for the fires? Californians obviously would rather get cash than power from them.
Nor have I.
