CA public utilities are required to purchase all solar power generated by anyone at retail rates. And solar power equipment/installation has been subsidized by both the feds and the state.
Therefore there is no incentive to build new generation as it would only be generating revenue (paying down capital cost) at half time. After dark.
Then the sun goes down in a heat wave and it's nobody's fault.
Friggin' commies.
Rolling Blackouts? In a US state? Can you say Third World Banana Republic? Sure you can? How far the former Golden State has fallen. All under the watchful eye of the oh so caring and compassionate liberal, progressive democrats.
There is an old saying, The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions. The dems are paving their roads at a record pace. They are all going to hell and taking all who stay with them.
Why can Phoenix and Tucson manage to keep their power on when temps soar above 110?
I am in LA Dept of Water and Power territory...No black out in my area yet...I don’t live in San Fernando Valley...
San Fernando Valley could really get hot...Not a good place to be at this time...
Venice and San Pedro areas are not too bad at this time...Close to the ocean...
Embrace the ‘Rat SUCK, you ‘Rats.
I went though this last night.
Today, I was at ACE Hardware, shopping for battery operated lamps. I found two. Both styled to look like lanterns, but they run on LEDs.
I ordered a transistor radio from Walmart.
Will order a CD player too.
I have too much food already. Not worried about that.
Full pantries are a family tradition.
it is sooooo hit here in LA right now, can’t sleep.
The powers that be in this state are either stupid or evil............likely both.
Sad. Maybe the UN can help them.
C’mon man. Easy fix for more blackouts. More taxes. MORE! MORE! MORE!
