We don’t know why Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx went to bat for actor Jussie Smollett. With Monday’s release of a damning statement from special prosecutor Dan Webb, we have an independent review examining how Foxx blew this case: She cut a deal for a celebrity defendant and misled the public numerous times about her actions. Worse, she made a mockery of a prosecutor’s supposedly equitable treatment of all defendants.
Webb cleared Foxx and her office of potential criminal conduct and found no sign that anyone tried to improperly influence Foxx. Good news, we guess, for Foxx’s reelection. Otherwise, we see confirmation of what we suspected at the time: a prosecutor who cheated the public of a fair and just legal process and shredded her credibility in a failed effort to make a high-profile criminal case disappear.
It was bizarre from the start. Smollett was accused of fabricating a hate crime. The questions that led to Webb’s appointment by Cook County Judge Michael Toomin focused on Foxx’s management of the state’s attorney’s office, which brought a 16-count felony indictment against Smollett in March 2019 and then suddenly and secretively moved soon after to drop all the charges. Foxx, elected in 2016 as an advocate of criminal justice reform, argued that she handled this case like thousands of others and in accord with her mission as a reformer. Foxx said she wanted to “spend my office’s finite resources on the most serious crimes.”
After Webb’s appointment, Foxx stopped talking about the case and breezed to victory in the 2020 Democratic primary. She faces Republican Pat O’Brien on Nov. 3. Webb’s report blows holes in Foxx’s defense. Webb lays out a pattern of lies, improper steps and evasions by Foxx’s office that appear designed to get the result for Smollett.

Those who are assuming a measurable shift of black votes to Trump might want to look at this woman’s margin of victory and rethink that.
I hope they drill into the phone calls to Foxx’s office from Big Mike Obama, Commie-la Harris, ValJar and other Obama acolytes, and draw a line between the staged lynching and the anti-lynching legislation being drafted by Commie-la Harris and Farticus to gain public sympathy.
Don’t be surprised if it was tied in to Kamela Harris anti-lynching push.
Is it any wonder that we, the people see these arrogant "public servants" as being above the law?
It should be pretty clear to all Americans now why Soros and the Left are putting their people in DA positions. it should also be clear why Attorney General is the most important position in government today.
The USA has laws covering literally everything, and if we don’t, activist judges will stretch the Constitution to make it so. So “the Law” now is in the hands of a D.A. who can use it however he/she wishes to persecute someone, or completely ignore obvious law-breaking.
She will be REELECTED !
