Interesting. If parents can see and hear everything that goes on in the virtual classroom, then they can gossip about what a dumb mistake little Bobby made yesterday. Online classes become public entertainment.

I thought this requirement was just an attempt to hide indoctrination and low quality teaching, but I have to admit that it has merit.

Or, Johnny could just as easily tell his parents what stupid thing Bobby said in class. If Johnny's parents are gossips, they'll gossip. Not allowing parents to view the classroom doesn't make Johnny's parents stopping gossiping, or Bobby any less of a dumbass.

The idea of disallowing parental involvement and oversight of their student in public school has no merit.

The one exception to this, is if a parent/guardian is abusing the student in some manner, the child should have an outlet to report such activity. But, that does not equate to prohibiting parents from seeing exactly what the Marxist NEA drones are teaching kids.

That said, parents should not be allowed to interrupt teaching sessions, but they should still be allowed to observe.

Actually, online entertainment would be a STEP UP for participation of some parents involvement in their kids educations.
