The Reason Why MN Gov. Walz lifted prescribing limits on the malaria drug, Hydroxychloroquine Trump touted as COVID-19 treatment

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has lifted restrictions he set in March on how the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine is dispensed, saying a run on the drug is no longer feared because it has no proven benefit in treating COVID-19.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly promoted the drug as a coronavirus treatment, calling it a possible “game-changer” and at one point saying he was taking it regularly to help prevent infection.

That led to some practitioners, nationwide and in Minnesota, prescribing large amounts of the drug to patients and themselves, risking shortages for people who relied on the drug for other chronic conditions.

Early in the pandemic, some doctors and patients reported benefits from using hydroxychloroquine, prompting the Food and Drug Administration in March to allow it to be used in hospitals outside clinical trials. But the FDA revoked that emergency use authorization June 15 saying large randomized trials found it had no benefit treating coronavirus patients.

The FDA has gone further in recent weeks, rejecting requests to further study the drug and warning it can cause heart problems in some patients. Some health care providers maintain the drug has been useful in preventing and treating coronavirus infections.

Walz initially limited how hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine could be prescribed to ensure patients with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic medical conditions who relied on the drug didn’t face shortages.

“A prescription drug order for chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine must contain a diagnosis appropriate for the use of these medications and be dispensed for no more than 30 days at a time,” Walz’s executive order, signed March 27, said.

Walz lifted that restriction on Aug. 12 when the Democratic governor extended the peacetime state of emergency he declared in March.

The people who believe this also think that white supremacists burned down Minneapolis.

““(W)e no longer need to limit the use of chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine because these medicines have not been proven to be effective treatments for COVID-19 and are no longer in high demand,” Walz’s latest order states.”

that means they restricted the drug only when they thought it might cure COVID! Un-F-ing believable!

“...saying a run on the drug is no longer feared because it has no proven benefit in treating COVID-19.”

So he’s admitting that if it useful, he blocks it and if it’s not, he allows it?

That’s Satanic.

HCQ has an elimination half-life of 30 - 50 days.

There was never a threat to patients on chronic dosage.

With evidence mounting from around the world on HCQ’s effectiveness, an enterprising lawyer might think to file a class-action wrongful death lawsuit. It probably wouldn’t get very far in a blue state, but could prompt a change in policy if the Governor might have to defend the policy on the merits.

So did anyone else get rheumatoid arthritis and lupus problems because he blocked this anti-inflammatory drug?

Related; Aussie Dr has a triple punch drug regimen against the wuhanvirus:

1. Ivermectin - TGA and FDA approved as an anti-parasitic therapy with an established safety profile since the 1970s. Known as the “Wonder Drug” from Japan.
2. Zinc
3. Doxycycline - TGA and FDA approved tetracycline antibiotic that fights bacterial infections, eg. acne or urinary tract infections, viral and malarial infections.

Read the comments at the site. Minnesodians have caught on to the plandemic and the killings by democrats by blocking the hydroxychloroquine medicine.

So does this mean you can get this medicine now since it is not “effective” and “not in demand”?

I'm glad Trump stiffed this lying POS on the Minneapolis disaster funds.

I would enjoy watching this little toad being forced to eat a large rotting pile of dogsqueezins.

There were reports that tens of millions of doses of HCQ are lying in storage, having been donated from overseas governments and local companies. Why is there a supposed problem of limited supply?

Shitty leftist newspaper. Wonder how many articles they carried by doctors who actually used Hydroq and the other drugs at the right times in a patient’s illness and saved them.

How do you spell “ZERO”?

2 studies that had flaws and that’s it? Now FDA says no more trials???? So they wash their hands and say that’s it?

IN what country does that make sense?

In a country where large swathes of people hate their own President and will do anything, even hurt their own family, and call it his fault. Look, I don’t like Trump, but even I can see how insane the hatred for him is.
