I agree, the context of the article suggests that “divisive” was the word the author meant to use. I guess this kind of thing happens too frequently as a result of the ever-more compressed news-cycle.
I used the “contact the author” feature of the website to suggest that the word “decisive” be replaced with “divisive”.
Ain’t it supposed to be a federal crime to politic on federal ground, you know, like Tommy daschle holding a fundraiser on top of Mt.Rushmore?
He should stick to something he knows, like getting run through by Big Mike.

I was frustrated during the story of the illegal alien mom who was deported, that they interspersed a clip of Trump saying “they are animals”, the implication being that Trump was referring to illegal aliens in general. I remember that speech; Trump was referring to MS-13 gang members, many of whom have questionable immigration status, not all illegals.
